Default LOL@Mr Roper Always Lookin At The Camera When He Cracked A Joke About Helen

I noticed that he would always look at the camera everytime he said somethin funny about Helen. What was up with that?

I love when Mr. Roper does that too. It made his zingers even funnier. Kind of like him saying to the audience: Ah ha! I got her real good. Didn't I?

Is Mr. Roper looking smugly into the camera referred to as breaking the fourth wall? Or is it only called that when the character talks to the audience?

it is called breaking the fourth wall

on the commentary track the guy said that no one was allowed to break the fourth wall except Mr Roper, because it was so funny when he grinned at the camera
