This just came to mind. Remember the episode in the last season where Keith had a drinking problem and became violent? Well, during one scene he had slapped Thelma in front of J.J. and Michael and the didn't do anything. They both should have jumped him and threw him out. If that was my sister he put his hands on, he wouldn't have made it out of that house alive. J.J. and Michael were straight up punks.

They were nerds. Especially J.J.
I guess they were supposed to be rational in an explosive situation. Unrealistic because it was television. You and I would have dealth with it differently for certain. |

I know it was tv, but they could have had at least J.J. stood up to Keith like he did to Carl. At least Michael verbally stood up to him after he broke his leg.

I have notices it a lot, and it seems that J.J. is like the biggest punk of them all.
Michael basically knew how to handle himself in a serious situation, if given the chance. Michael not only had his fists to fight with, but also provoked people with his words and speeches on black pride and stuff. I also happen to have some "Michael" moments in my life because there are many a time when I would speak out for myself and stuff like that, but I would not go to serious extremes like he did. But then, he started getting to be too much like J.J. later on in the show's run. J.J., however, remined me too much like the Lion on "the Wizard of Oz": All fists and action, but no guts. Like if something bad hapens, he would be like "Let me at em, Let me at em", and then when he faces it, he yells "MAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" and run off in a corner. MY GOD! What does THAT tell you? J.J. may talk a good game but he can NOT play it. Even when he acted serious, he was ridiculous at it. J.J. jokes a lot, says stupid things, and blows surprises or covers (loose lips). No wonder James was always putting him down. When J.J. tries to stand up for himself, one hard glare from James or someone else and he's like "Moving On". That's J.J. for you. |
