Question Filming the upstairs...

I've always wondered about the filming of the upstairs on Full House.

How did the audience attending the tapings view scenes with other rooms in the way? If they were taping in DJ's room, how could it be viewed by people if Joey's room was in the way? The same thing goes with the girls room and Danny's room. How about the bathroom?

Did the audience just see these scenes on TV screens? Has anyone seen behind-the-scences photos of the sets? (besides the kitchen and living room)

Are they available anywhere? Anyone know someone who attended a taping?

Just curious about the production of the show...

It's not actually set up like a house. It's kind of like the house is cut in half and then I think the rooms are seperated into indivdual sets. Like the rooms aren't actually attached to the hallway in reality....but I could be partially wrong.

Barb, you're right. I saw a taping in 1992. The living room and kitchen are attached like they would be in a real house. I think the different rooms are probably portable and can be wheeled in depending on if they're going to use them or not. I saw the episode, "Road To Tokyo". They had to build a set for the Japan stage and Jesse's dressing room. The rooms aren't attached to the hallway and everything is on one level. The Japan stage was way off to the far right. The girls' room was way off to the far left, as was Jesse's dressing room. We were sitting in the middle so it was hard to see what was going on on either side of the living room/kitchen. And the backyard is inside the soundstage too.

It's a set, not a real house.

When people are coming down the steps, where are they coming from if it's all on one level?

They come from no where. LOL It just leads up the stairs and there's a wall blocking the emptiness.
