Default The "Bewitched" movie

I was reading an article on the new "Bewitched" movie and I finally figured out what they are doing. Nicole Kidman will play Isabel Bigalow, an actress who gets the part of Samantha in a remake of the Bewitched series. The twist is that Isabel is a witch as well. Will Farrell is Jack Wyatt, a washed-up actor who gets the part of Darrin. Michael Caine plays the part of Isabel's father, who falls in love with Iris (Shirley MacLaine), who is playing the part of Endora in the remake. So the whole thing will be a show-within-a-movie.

Is it me or does this sound really horrible?

That sounds like a very strange concept or idea. Bit of a headsharker, if you ask me.

I agree, this sounds like a lousy idea for a movie. I can't stand Will Ferrell anyway, and he's supposed to be playing Jack/Darrin, so that will make it less worth seeing, IMO.

I don't have a problem with Nicole Kidman playing Samantha. I hate the concept they have. And I wish Jim Carrey was going to play Darrin. But the actors aren't even playing any characters of the show.

Do they expect this movie to be a success? The fools.

I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD before I check it out.

According to the latestEntertainment Weekly , Jim Carrey was replaced by Will Ferrell because 1)he wanted to do another movie instead, and 2)he wanted the movie to be straightforward (whatever that means). BTW, Fred Willard will be Dr. Bombay.

What Jim Carrey means by wanting the movie to be straightforward means that he wanted the script to be as faithful to the show as possible.

Now knowing that Jim Carrey pulled on that I am glad he stood up for Hollywood's massacreing of plots.

This is movie is going to suck.I am a huge Bewitched fan and i am VERY disappointed. Its bad enough that 2 of my least liked actors,Will Ferrel and Nicole Kidman are in it.I cant believe Will is playing Darrin-there is no similarity! And Nicole Kidman looks nothing like Samantha. Then again,in my eyes,no one could fill Liz's shoes.

It may make a good movie but they shouldn't call it Bewitched because it isn't. It seems the best thing this movie will do is provide an excuse to get the original show to DVD finally
