I COULDN'T STAND LAMONT. HE HAD NO RESPECT FOR FRED. HE TALKED BACK AND SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SH-T KNOCKED OUT OF HIM. THE EPISODE WHERE HE FIRST MET DONNA, HE ACTED LIKE A BABY, THE EPISODE WHERE HE GOT FRED'S FRIENDS DRUNK, THE EPISODE WHERE FRED CANCELED HIS DATE WITH DONNA AND LAMONT UNCANCLED IT SO TWO WOMEN SHOWED UP. ALSO, WHEN FRED AND JULIO ARGUED OVER LAND, LAMONT TOOK JULIO'S SIDE. JUST REMEMBER LAMONT, IN THE EPISODE OF "THE STUNG", YOU TOLD FRED HE WAS A LOUSY CARD PLAYER. BUT I DO REMEMBER IN "THE CARD SHARPS" FRED BAILED YOUR SORRY ASS OUT AND WON YOUR MONEY BACK. LILKE FRED WOULD SAY, "CASED CLOSED".

He was my least favorite character. He annoyed the hell out of me too. I was annoyed when Lamont arranged for Donna to be at the house the same time as Carol. Carol was the lady Fred had just met and Lamont went behind Fred's back and called Donna. Damm he was a NERD

the question is

is lamont annoying

well in someways yes but

if there was no conflict between fred and lamont

the show would have been boring

lamont calling Donna the Barracudda(sorry as you can see I'm not a speller) that was funny

or in the episode when they are suppose to get married and at the end he gets mad at lamont funny

the conflict that they had most of the time was funny

Lamont was annoying?
I do not think Lamont was annoying at all; I think he stood up for himself and was stern at his father's childish and indifferent nature, especially when it came to running the business.
Lamont Sanford had a dry personality, which blended well with the crazy antics of his father Fred; I think the chemistry between Demond Wilson and Redd Foxx was amazing, and the two balanced each other well on Sanford and Son....

Lamont did lack some respect and how about the episode where he was trying to trace back his African roots. When he found out that he had to respect POP Fred that went out the window the next day.

I agree with everyone else on this, Lamont was annoying and lacked respect for his father.
