Post Chrissy Went To Pot

During the first 2 seasons Crissy was a total babe, but then she got fat and real stupid, what a turn off from Crissy of old, anyone else notice this?

On the fourth season, when Mr. Furley and Lana joined the cast, Chrissy went from a sophisticated woman to a dumb little kid. She wore those dumb ponytails and her hair looked so fake. I guess she bleached it a lot. Suzanne Somers looks very pretty today but during her 4th season on 3's Co., she looked and acted dumb. She cracked all those dumb jokes and snorted like a pig. She wasn't fat, but Chrissy changed a lot after the Ropers moved out.

She wasn't fat. However I totally agree with the 2 of you about Chrissy. Gosh, you guys beat me to posting that question. I though she was much smarter, sophisticated and attractive the first 3 seasons. Season 3 is when she started to change up. After season 4 it was downhill.

I thought Chrissy was still the sweet, shophisticated lady on season 3. She snorted a little, but she didn't act stupid. There were great episodes that focused on Chrissy, such as Love Diary, Stanley's Hotline, and The Kleptomaniac. She was pretty funny and she looked beautiful. But on season four, she started to act (and look) stupid. I heard on some website that Chrissy bleached her hair so much (on season four), that she started getting some bald spots. She put her hair in the high ponytails so she could cover up the bald spots. But still, I hated the way Chrissy acted. She sounded different, too. She talked as if she had something shoved down her throat. She cracked a whole bunch of dumb jokes too. She reminded me of a female version of Full House's, Danny Tanner. Snort, Snort. AHHHHHHH!!!

Thumbs down

I think it was dumb for her to change her image from shy ingenue to a dumb blonde! Who were these people kidding? But, still I tuned in and I did laugh at some of her "dumb" antics. I think she left the show at the right moment or else we would've missed out on seeing the other actresses who took her place.

Suzanne Somers was the most talented cast member. The press gave her a bad deal, due to an unfortunate business decision.

The actresses who followed her, did not have enough experience, and were not comediennes.
The show was not based on upwardly mobile people, so perhaps this is why the "sophisticated" image was dropped.

I loved Chrissy in the first, second, and third seasons. Then her image changed and she seemed so dumb. She really gave us blondes a bad name. (But I have to say, I did enjoy her "snort laugh".)

Sad

I totally agree that Chrissy went downhill after the 3rd season. It was sad to see the character turn from a beautiful, natural, somewhat intelligent woman to a moronic bimbo with little more to say than occasional idiotic comments! It was an example of overkill on the classic "dumb blonde" character. No wonder Suzanne rebelled! LOL! Luv the show, though!!!

I totally agree with you guys. Chrissy's character changed so much during the 3rd and 4th season. She turned so annoying and her makeup was really terrible. Her hair looked like a wig with ribbons tucked into it, and she snorted so much, that the show could have been mistaken for a bunch of pigs.

Hmmmm...maybe after the ropers moved out, she got really upset and just snapped and lost control and knocked herself out going crazy, and when she awoke from the coma, she was never the same again...

You know I have to completely disagree with all of you. In fact in the 3 something years she was on the show I think she became a comedic genius. When she first started the show she was so green. She didn't know how to move, how to deliver a joke, in fact she was completely unfunny. But as time went on she started to develop all the classic "Chrissyisms", includidng the snort, that wacky hairdo with the ponytails, her stance, and even the way she talked. In fact I think season four is the best season of Three's Company.

I agree. I like the first couple years of chrissy.. I think she wasn't dumb, but innocent.. I think when suzanne acuatlly thought she was "acting or adding" to the character.. THATS when she went down hill.. her hair was waaaaaaaay to bleached white almost.

I think she made her way to dumb.. she did get heavier.. her skin was pretty bad.. she got allot of pimples.. and acted and looked like a "blow-up porn doll"..

I really stopped liking her.. and I think she left at the perfect time, because I don't think she could done much more.. suzanne actually went as far as you could and the "chrissy character" was getting boring

In my opinion, the producers of 3's company destroyed the show when the had stanley and helen roper leave. that was beyond stupid! then chrissy being changed from an (almost) level-headed person into the infamous 'ditzy blonde' *really* destroyed what was left of the show.

I dont think Chrissy got fat, but she did get a little bit dumber. She was still really funny though and I think she was the best blonde roomate on the show.
