Default question about finale...

ive only seen the finale on N@N, and pt.2 in syndication a long time ago. ive never seen a scene where diane and rebecca 'fight" as i hear. where did this scene go, and what happened in it?

I don't recall a scene where Diane and Rebecca fight. I have a copy of the original NBC broadcast, but I'm too busy to dig it out and make sure.

AKA, I might just kill you if you didn't tape the Tonight Show special afterwards. (or the Bob Costas special before)

What would you want for copies??

I'm not the one who taped it. Someone sent it to me a few years ago, per my request. The Costas special is there, but the Tonight Show isn't (although there is a promo for it during the show).

I'm not sure if you'd want me to make you a copy, though. This is pretty poor quality (the picture is okay, but subpar and the sound is almost nonexistant).

"Samsgirl xo" was going to send me a copy a few years ago, but I was too lazy to send her a money order. I might PM her and ask her to give me a second chance (she said it was okay quality and if I remember right, she had the Costas special and the Tonight Show).

It's too bad my parents didn't have a VCR back then. I desperately wanted to tape it. Even at age 12, I knew of syndication cuts and didn't think I'd ever see the finale uncut ever again.

Very cool.
Im hoping both the Costas special and the Tonight Show are included on the Season 11 DVD, but I dont think we'll see either.

I hope the "Analyzing The Laughter" special for Frasier is included on the Season 11 release too. (did you hear its going to be widescreen?)

maybe there wasnt a scene. for some reason, i thought i heard about scenes where diane and rebecca "girl fight" (verbally, i think), about sam or something, but i have no clue. thats y i asked i guess.
in that case, the only scenes where they existed together was from the time diane walked into cheers, until don came up to melvilles and took rebecca away, right?

anyway, ive never seen the original NBC broadcast, though I do have the theme to the Bob Costas special, some footage of ppl standing outside the Bull and Finch singing the theme song, waiting for the Tonight Show to start, and the opening and ending themes to the episode itself.

the teaser (of the whole thing, and pt. 1 in other cuts) is longer than what is shown on N@N, because the shot as the theme starts is paul and phil sitting at the table under the TV, and paul makes some comment, then the theme starts. on N@N, the teaser doesn't end w/ this shot.
the ending theme of NBC was longer too, to accomodate the guest stars of all 3 later-to-be-cut-up parts. the piano-only version of the theme was different too, than N@N or syndication.

tho id like to see the whole thing too, along w/ the costas special and the tonight show afterwards.

has anyone heard of another costas special, made during the early 80's, where the gang is in character at Fenway, i believe, and bob is talking to the camera, and diane can b seen in the background, enamorored w/ the camera, waving at it? what was this for?
