Default My Concert Best Time Of My Life

This is all copied from my journal. So there may be some swearing that would be blocked out.

----

Before I start, let me just make a note.

I have so much newfound respect for Amy Adams and Camile Velasco. They were my favorites before, they are now my favorites more than EVER. Same with Diana DeGarmo and Jasmine Trias. They are both amazing as well. And now I would like to say that my next two favorite Idols are not two you would expect me to say.

George Huff and Jennifer Hudson.

I LOVE THEM. SO MUCH. They are the two nicest people in the world. Especially George. JPL is a very good performer, but as a person, he seems kind of... ehh. LaToya also is a very good performer, still boring (except while shaking it like a Polaroid picture), but sweet. Very nice. And John Stevens seems so shy!! Ahh!! And Fantasia. What shall I say about the winner? She definately has the stage presence to have won. But the voice? I'm not so sure. She screeches quite a bit. And if anyone would beg to differ, you cannot use TV as a judge. I will debate with anyone who has seen her live. Anyone else, I won't waste my time.

Now, onto the actual story of what happened. I got there at around 4:30 or 5 or so. I was supposed to meet Josh at 5:30 so I just wandered around, looking for their busses and such. Anyways, before 5:30, I saw Josh standing by this glass wall of doors. So I went up to him and we kinda just stood there nervously. Jill (Jilly from IDF, if anyone here knows her) was there too, and she stood with Josh and I. He said that the Idols had been walking by the glass, that he had seen JPL. Camile walked by then. I was like, "OH MY GOD LOOK IT'S CAMILE." So we watched her walk by. Josh said that Brenda had come by and he showed her the scrapbook and she had said one minute and went away. Well, she never came back, but George came by and we showed him the scrapbook and asked if he'd give it to Diana. So he did! He was SOOOOOOO nice, he came right up to the window and waved at everyone, and he talked to Josh and I for a second. Then other people walked by, like Jennifer, and Camile again, both of which were very nice. Then came the apocolypse.

AMY ADAMS WALKED BY.

I stopped breathing. I was like, "Josh... is that Amy?" and he was like, "YES!!!" so we went up and I waved like mad and she saw me and smiled and waved back. AMY ADAMS WAVED AT ME. She came back again later and Josh and I went where there wasn't a crowd and waved at her there. This went on until the ****ing EVIL (honest to God, they were anti-christ like) security guards put up this wall. So Josh and I took our picture with the cardboard cutout and Poptarts took a pic of Josh, Jill, and I with it. It'll be up on the website soon, infact, I'm going to go check if it is now. Please hold.

Okay, it's not. So anyways, then we decided to go up to our seats. We went up and then we bought stuff. Josh bought everything Diana you could buy. I bought the tourbook, the poster of all 10 of them, an 8 x 10 of Amy, and an 8 x 10 of Camile. And they spelled Camile wrong on the thing!! It said, "8 x 10 picture of Camille" ... I found that to be kind of blah, but wotever. So we gave the stuff to my mom and grandma and then we went walking around. We saw Jill at her seat, she was WAAAAAAAAAY high up, I felt bad. Then we walked around the concession area. There were people with these awesome shirts on, so we were following them to ask where they got them. They were like, "Oh, we got them in the parking lot." Well, damn. Anyways. Then we were looking for Brenda and we got to this really empty area, so Josh goes, "Dare me to yell, 'Brenda!!'?" and I was like, "YEAAH!!!" so he did. Ahahah. She didn't come out though. Then we tried to look backstage, but that didn't work. So we went back to our seats and watched multiple ads about weed. The Poptart yeti came down, trying to get us to scream. Then he stuck his ass in my face. That was nice [/sarcasm]

THEN THE CONCERT STARTED. I shall write about everyone seperately.

Amy Adams - Knock on Wood - She was AMAZING. I thought she was good on the show? No. Nothing was as good as that. She was really energetic and dancing around and stuff. She was GORGEOUS as well. I felt like crying cos her beautiful self was 7 rows away from me. I couldn't wave, couldn't clap, couldn't anything. I was too much in awe.

Camile Velasco - Ex Factor - OH MY GOD. She has changed so much from the show. On the show, she always seemed nervous and never really did her best, which is why she didn't make it too far. She was almost as amazing as Amy. The song choice was perfect. At the end of hers, I waved like MAD and she pointed RIGHT at me and said, "I see you!! I see you waving there!! I see you!!"

Jon Peter Lewis - Superstition - I honestly think this was my favorite song. I mean, yeah, I LOVED AMY, do not get me wrong. But this was all about song choice. It was perfect for him. He was dancing all around and... it was just perfect for him. I loved it.

Jennifer Hudson - (I don't remember the song!! AHH!!) - Well, whatever song it was, it suited her. I really liked her. She's like top 6 now. She was SO GOOD. And wow, she can belt. I wish she'd won rather than Fantasia. If one of the "divas" had to win, I mean.

John Stevens - Come Fly Away With Me - Again, this was all about song choice. I'm so glad they gave him big band. It was beautiful. I loved it. He is a very good performer. He's so sweet too... at least it seems.

George Huff - Ain't Too Proud to Beg - I hated the song choice. He had sung this on the show. Blahhhhhhhhh. But he did it REALLY good. If I hadn't known the lyrics, I might have thought it was a different song, cos he did it so well. But he was amazing. And at the end, I waved at HIM (I waved at them all, but yeah) and he saw me and was like, "Yup, I see you!!" and waved back.

LaToya London - My All - WOW. Can you say DIVA?! Christ. She was very good. EXTREMELY good belter. It was kind of boring, as it was the first actual slow song. But I liked it.

Jasmine Trias - (I don't remember this one either!!!) - This was a GOOD song, even though I don't remember the name. She did it so beautifully. And the cage... it looked like she was cage dancing, lmao.

Diana DeGarmo - Dreams and River Deep, Mountain High - She is a beautiful girl. She sounds VERY different live, as they all did, but I think her difference (and Camile's) were the greatest. When she sang Dreams, I immediately stood up and got ready to cry. I was bracing myself. By the end of the song, I couldn't even see what I was taking pictures of anymore cos the lense was so fogged up with my tears. River Deep, Mountain High was good too. She has AMAZING stage pressence. SO energetic.

Fantasia Barrino - Summertime and Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Summertime was exactly as it was on the show. She sat. Why does she sit during that song? She doesn't do it at any other song... bleh. Anyways, that was good. Signed, Sealed, Delivered, however... I have never heard anyone screech like that in my life. Never ever. And I never want to. Never ever. That was SCARY how much she screeched.

Anyways, then it was intermission. I went over to Josh and he was like, "CHRIST, I have a headache from that screeching!!" Then this girl came up to us and she was like, "See that girl over there in the red?" and we FINALLY, after like 10 minutes, saw her, so the girl was like, "Can you go ask her if her name is Chris, and if it is, tell her Jackie's here?" So we went over and I asked, and she said, no, her name was Manda. So her friend was like, "Want me to take a picture of you two?" and we were like, "No, we're good." So we went and told Jackie and she's like, "What?! That looks just like her... it's gotta be her... it is her. She was just playing with you cos she doesn't know you." But she said thanks and left. Then Josh told me how he touched JPL's boob when he ran by ... ahahahahahahahahahahhaa. I wanna touch Amy's boob. But that's another story. I went back to my seat after that and was deleting bad pics so I'd have room for more, when the BATTERY started to get low. UUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH.

SECOND HALF!!!!!!!!

I don't remember every song, so I can't do commentary like that. All I'll say is that they were all AMAZING together... the choreography, the harmonies... everything. But I will comment on the songs I remember.

When Doves Cry - AMAZING. I loved the harmonies and everything. I don't really remember much except the harmonies... but it was amazing.

The JPL and Amy duet - Kristina, I thought of you during this. That was my favorite part. I wanted to videotape it, but then I would have had less picture room... waaaaah I'm sorry. If I had more memory on my camera, I would have. It was GREAT. I couldn't imagine it with Camile.

All the George/JPL on guitar songs were great. JPL was such a good guitarist. Then aahhh I think my favorite part had to be when they were introducing the band. Camile doing the guitar, the drums, the keyboard... that was amazing.

I also loved it when Diana sang Old Time Rock and Roll... *squee* And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't My Funny Valentine supposed to be John and LaToya? Cos it was John and Fantasia for us. ROAR. Hey Ya was amazing too. Especially when LaToya shook it like a Polaroid picture. Her ass... that was beautiful...

I'll shut up.

And ugh... when they sang Crazy in Love, Amy was supposed to shake her ass like woah, but she didn't at all!! That upset me. Waaah. But anyways, they sang more songs, then Fantasia sang I Believe and it really wasn't that great live. But whatever. Then they did Ain't No Mountain High Enough and it was over. Then they brought out a cake for Camile, cos September 1st was her birthday!! It was so sweet.

At the end of that, Josh came RUNNING over and goes, "I GET TO GO BACKSTAGE!!!" Brenda had found him, thanked him for the scrapbook, and given him a VIP pass. He got to meet them, the lucky bastard. Hah. So then he went to go where he needed to go, we hugged, and he went. Then we found Rudy, so we followed him, but yeah. Then we went to the glass from the beginning. George came by and we were the only ones there, so we were like, "GEORGE!!!" He came over and he was ALL over the glass. He had his face right up in it and he was trying to get to a place to see Shannon. It was so awesome. He is so nice. Then Jennifer came over and started putting her face in the glass. We were like... an inch away from them. Seriously. Then JPL came by and Shannon was like, SCREAMING for him, and we wanted him to give her an autograph, but he was like, "I'm sorry, I can't!" and he kept apologizing, but he couldn't come out. Then Jasmine walked by and waved and LaToya came by and my mom yelled, "You were great!!" and she went, "Thank you!!!" Amy never came by. Hmph. But then Brenda did! I was like, "I know Josh, the one with the scrapbook?" and she's like, "Ohh!!" and then she said she'd take stuff back for Diana to sign, so I gave her my tourbook and Shannon gave her the poster. I was like, "Oh please, could you also get Amy to sign it?" and she said, "I'll see what I can do." So we waited for Brenda. Rudy walked by again. As did Jennifer, but we didn't get her attention that time. Finally, Brenda came back with the stuff. She said, "I couldn't get them all, like I got LaToya on one but not the other." Then she handed me my book and my Amy and Camile pictures fell out and she was like, "Oops!!" and she saw Amy, so she asked, "Who's the other one of?" and I said, "Camile" and she said, "Oh, Amy and Camile weren't at the meet and greet." So I didn't get theirs, but I got Diana's, 2 of George, JPL, and John Stevens. Shannon got 2 of Diana, George, JPL, John Stevens, and LaToya. I wanted LaToya's. Hmph. Oh well. Then we went outside to go to our car and they were selling those AWESOME t-shirts, so I got one! *squee*

It was the best expirience of my life. BUT then I got home and there was a message on my answering machine from JOHNNY. The Johnny from Diana's mailing list. He told me to call him within 5 minutes... if I had, I could have met them. Josh got the same message on his answering machine, but he met them anyways. I was really upset about that at first, but then I realised that Amy and Camile weren't even there, so it wasn't really a big deal.

It was the best day ever.

That's great! I know you're a huge fan of Amy Adams, it must have been awesome for you to see her in person.

I hope that there will be an AI Top 10 concert in San Diego next year.

Even if there was one this year, I wouldn't have gone anyway because Matt wasn't there, he was one of my favorites.

Glad to hear you had a good time.

Wow it sounds like you had a GREAT TIME. And you're right, Diana does sound really different live. But she still sounds great. And I will admit... that when she sang Dreams, it was just really really touching. and...
