Thumbs down Now that we know about Good Times and Sanford and Son being More appealing than the

Jeffersons,

is What's Happening also more appealing than the Jeffersons if both DVD's were on the same shelf?

Its not necessarily true that The Jeffersons is less appealing than S&S and GT, Columbia Tristar never mentioned anything about sales being bad for it. (but they most likely were)

Yeah i came to the conclusion that GT and S&S appeal to a larger amount of TV fans than the Jeffersons because the Jeffrsons DVD probably had LOW SALES. It's obvious thAt GT and S&S didn't have low sales because they both had 2 seasons released on DVD in the same year. TJ last release was June-2003

Yeah that has to be it. S&S and GT aren't bad shows, but they must appeal to a broader audience.

I dunno, maybe now that Isabel has passed they'll finish releasing the series, I think there'd be a higher interest in the series than before since she's passed

Which is weird, because The Jeffersons was the most successful during its original run.

I think S&S and GT sold more because TJ had been in syndication forever, while S&S just came back recently, and GT has really had too much exposure.

That's a possibility too, some shows can do great in syndication and sell poorly on DVD. It makes me wonder how well Everybody Loves Raymond will sell, since I can't seem to turn a channel without seeing that show.

Mad About You from what I've read has done poorly in syndication, and I think that affected the DVD sales as well.

The Jeffersons only did better than S&S in the 76-77 season. And it just barely finished above S&S

1976-77 TV season

TJ-#24
S&S-#27

The Jeffersons -- 11 Seasons
Sanford & Son -- 6 Seasons

And, I think TJ had more awards too, because well, it was a better show.

S&S gets repetitive, whereas I could watch TJ for hours and hours without getting sick of it.

As for GT, its tied with S&S.
I laugh more at GT, but I laugh harder at S&S, if that makes any sense.

I meant to say "GT hasn't really had too much exposure"

S&S I can stand in moderation, I've seen GT once or twice, and never cared much for it, so IMO TJ is the best

Ahh, rest assured The Jeffersons fans.... Solomon brings news that Season 3 may be released in early 2005, just in time for the 30th Anniversary. That's the Seasons 3-11 on DVD anniversary, correct??
