Default Where's Poppa Deleted Scenes.

Anyone notice a shot in the season 8 & 9 opener where all the girls are together in the bedroom. I'm almost positive that that shot isn't in any episode, but looks like a re shot scene from Where's Poppa. the scene is where Blair is packing her bags before she leaves to see her indited dad.

i've seen a post about this before but can't find it now...

heres a pic from the opener - it looks just like the scene from Wheres Poppa except the blocking and some wardrobe are different.

here is the NBC promo that shows the deleted scene:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uva2lkt9LaU

anyone have info?

See my post on "The last two years."
It explains that for "Where's Poppa" the decided the rewrite the last few scenes are reshoot them and postpone the airdate for the episode... this is why that clip in the opening shot was never seen in the episode. And if you notice they all have the same wardrobe, but all of their hairstyles are slightly different.

Speaking of these kind of details, ever notice in episode#174-"Cupid's Revenge" - in the scene at the end when Blair and Cliff are talking on the sofa, Blair's hair drastically changes style from one cut to the next. They obviously did taped the scene twice and edited the best monents together, but someone brushed out Lisa's hair so it looks like it magically c hanges back and forth. Same thing happebed to Blair hair in these two episodes:
#24 - "The Secret" - see Blair's hair go from straight to curled from scene to scene when discussing Jo's dad's interest in the stock market. ... in #112-"Cruisin" -Blair's hair changes several times from flat and straight to puffy and culed...the first time it happens is at the beginning when Jo accidentally makes a short stop causing Blair to draw a long line of lipstick across her cheek. There were some lines cut from the reruns: after Jo makes the short stop, she blames it on a squirrel in the road. Blair says"You did that on purpose!" and Jo answers back, "Yeah,me and the squirrel planned the whole thing ahead of time" or something to that effect...

Default New info?

Does anyone have new info on this topic?

I noticed there are alot of story editors and script consultants for this episode - and it really isn't that funny. Maybe they knew it wasn't the best and tried to salvage it.

I always thought that, that scene was in the episode when Blair's dad went to jail and she was getting ready to dedicate the new building to the college.

Thumbs up NBC Promo sheds light...

Check out this NBC promo. Almost every clip in the promo isn't from the syndicated version of Wheres Poppa. I have a 1992 full ep taped from CBC and none of these scenes are anywhere in it. and there is never a mention of blair locking herself in the bedroom. This one looks much funnier...

There is another promo shot on Youtube of the episode, The Wedding Day, where none of the scenes are in the episode as well. I believe NBC just shot extra scenes to make a promo.

Here it is --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apZauiQhZI8

No, they just used a clip that was edited from syndication. Where's Poppa is a different situation. I'd like to know why they decided to reshoot the episode, the aired version is much more dramatic - and not in a good Roseanne way.

I believe that shot was put in the opening credits to show Beverly Ann with all the girls to replace the one of Mrs. Garrett and all the girls.

Yeah, but it was lifted from Where's Poppa. It's safe to say they re wrote and re shot where's poppa for whatever reason, decided by who ever. We got to see a glimps of the first verson in the opening credits and that nbc promo that youtube has recently removed. I hope the two versions are available on DVD. Hear that shout factory people!?

Thumbs up

They re shot this episode because it was originally about Blair locking herself in the bedroom. In turn locking the other girls out, including Natalie and Tootie... But when NBC pushed this to a December broadcast, AFTER the airing of episode "Another Room" (where Natalie and Tootie get their own room), the plot no longer made sense. So we'll never get to see Natalie trying to axe down the door, or blair hiding out from the rest of the gang. except in the 1986 nbc promo that is floating around the internet. It would be amazing to have both versions on the Season 8 release of the dvd. Amazing!

And this episode aired AFTER Tootie and Natalie moved into the attic. In this picture, all four of the girls beds are still in the room.

Thumbs up Uncut episode - Where's Poppa

I watched the uncut episode of Where's Poppa S8, and there is no scene where Blair barricades herself inside the bedroom, and the girls have to Axe through the door. It looks like the scenes were deleted and re-shot for whatever reason. I'd really like to know exactly why...

Grrr... Why doesn't the YouTube video work!!?!? This is really interesting! I don't remember this episode because I'm not a huge fan of later seasons, but there is no reason for YouTube to take the video off!
