Default When Did You Start Watching??

??

For me, I became a fan very late.
I had heard of the show, but never really cared about it until I became a fan of Cheers (early 2002) -- from there I tried to watch it, but I always seemed to miss it.
The first episode I remember watching during the NBC run was "Lilith Needs A Favor" -- because well, I was expecting Cheers all over again. After that, I only caught pieces here and there.
Then, I suddenly caught on in early 2003 just before the first season was announced for DVD. I began watching the series regularly from there on NBC. With the episode "Kenny on the Couch" I didn't miss any new episodes since then thank god.

Now, Im just waiting for the DVDs to see the rest.
(although Ive seen about half of Seasons 8-10 in syndication)

I started watching when it first aired in the UK - don't remember the date exactly. It helped that I was already a fan of Cheers (I was around 7 or 8 when I started watching it).

I have just identified the first day I ever watched an episode - it was the 27th of October 1997, an episode near the end of Season 4 called 'Daphne Hates Sherry'. I became a fan there and then. Fortunately, Channel 4 went straight into Season 5 after Christmas.

27th of February 1998 was the first day I ever recorded an episode (I remember the date because it was my friends brithday and I wouldn't be in - hence my recording it!). I was thereafter unable to go without taping it every week, so I have since taped virtually every episode that has been shown on Channel 4, with a few unfortunate gaps that I'm working to fill now that I have satellite. I now have the entire series (with just 6 gaps) on my tapes or on bought videos.

And despite this I am still hoping to buy some DVDs when I have the money. I'm thinking of at least getting Season 4 as it's the first episodes I saw and therefore a special one for me.

That's nearly 7 years I've been a fan - and a dedicated one at that - I still watch it every day!

It's almost worth doing just so that I can tell the story!

I became a fan of both Cheers and Frasier just this year. Back in february I think. It was when TV Land dedicated a whole weekend to one show. Anyway, Cheers had always been one of those shows that I cursed because it took the spot of some other show I liked. I had never given it a chance until this year, same with Frasier. In fact, for a while I didn't even know the shows were related. Now I wish I would have started watching it earlier.
