Default Aaliyah movie

A movie based on the life on the late singer/actress Aaliyah is set to begin shooting this fall.

She will be played by non other than an actress I mentioned earlier, might be on the verge of being a big star, Meagan Good.

There were wild rumors, that Aaliyah would be played by Ashanti, who has little if any acting experience. (she did guest star on "American Dreams")

Where did you hear this? I can't find it anywhere. BTW Ashanti better keep away from anything Aaliyah related. I can't stand that wannabe.

Ugh, I can't believe they casted Meagan Good, she'll never pull it off. Sanaa Lathan would've been a much better choice.

I really hope she was joking, besides that implies that Ashanti actually sings R&B and that girl wouldn't know R&B if it bit her in the ass!

You don't think, they would cast Dave Chappelle as R. Kelly?

Dave is already cast to play Rick James in a movie about Rick's life. I don't think they would cast Dave in that role, but you never know. I think the best choices to play R.Kelly are Morris Cheastnut and Taye Diggs.

Maybe Ray J or Marques Houston could do R. Kelly, but defianently not Dave Chapelle.

I don't think Chappelle would be good as either R. Kelly or Rick James. He's hysterical on Comedy Central... but can he actually play them DRAMATICALLY?

That is what I want to know. I don't know if Dave can do drama.

Dave is going to play Rick James, because his production company is making the movie. He cast himself as Rick James.
