No...what's the argument for it being a spinoff?

I guess because they cross over, but most if not all shows do that once in a while. I dont think it qualifies for being a spinoff because no character from Wings was ever on Cheers. Slightly off topic, but I never understood why Wings and Frasier never crossed over. Frasier and Lilith had been on Wings while on Cheers, so why not have Frasier go again?? Same production companies and EXACT SAME producers. The shows already existed in the same universe, and they sured could've used a ratings boost for Wings. |

Yeah, I would have liked to see a Wings/Frasier crossover. But I guess they were hesitant, seeing as critics often see crossovers as a sign that writers are running out of ideas. The Cheers ones were a must, but Wings might have been stretching it (especially in the early years).

I never thought of Wings as a Cheers spin-off, just a show that was created by some of the people who worked on Cheers. I think both shows are fine examples of great comedy. Both have great writing and jokes, characters you can relate to and care about, great acting, and good chemistry between both the cast members and characters. I'm actually a bit more of a Wings fan than a Cheers fan, but I think both shows are classics. I wish we had more great, intelligent sitcoms on like them. We truly need them.

Wings is in no way a spinoff of Cheers.

Nope I wouldn't consider it a spin off, same creators, etc, etc,
I do love the episodes Norm, Cliff, Frasier and Lillith were in.I def wouldn't have wanted Wings characters on Frasier, as much as I love the characters on Wings, they just wouldn't have fit, now Cheers, def. I could see Brian, Joe, and Lowell on a trip to Boston stopping in at Cheers for a drink, OMG Woody and Lowell would have hit if off great Brian and Sam probably would have swapped some great stories

Wings is not a spin-off.
