Some burning questions about the cosmos

Hello everyone- I am feeling kind of strange today, and I want to ask you all some things. Anyone may respond. Humorous responses are just fine...but I would really enjoy reading some serious ones, as well. Here are my questions:

1. Is the universe open or closed? Do cosmic strings exist?

2. How does one cross a river without getting ones clothing wet?

Now for some proverbial questions:

1. What is the sound of one hand clapping?

2. If a tree falls in a forest, and no one is present, does it make a sound?

Now for some proverbial questions:

1. What is the sound of one hand clapping? Bart Simpson answered that one. Just watch the episode where Bart and Milhouse are competing in a mini-golf tournament.


2. If a tree falls in a forest, and no one is present, does it make a sound? Yes, it does. Something will always be there to hear it, be it bug, bird, or mammal. Just because a human isn't there to hear it does not mean the sound does not exist. How egotistical is that?!
