American Pie: The Next Generation
Stifler's little bro takes over the franchise.

August 25, 2004 - Just when you thought the franchise had run its course, recent online reports suggest that a fourth American Pie is in the oven. A report over at Cinescape confirms that casting is already underway. In fact, they've heard a plot synopsis from someone who's auditioning for a role in the film.

According to the site's scooper, "All the original characters have moved on, except there will be a cameo by Finch. Stifler's little brother Matt, wants to join his brother's business (Stifler has hit it big producing Girls Gone Wild videos) and after everything Matt has heard from Jim's bandgeek wife Michelle, he plans to go back to band camp and make a video of his own... Bandies Gone Wild." We kid you not.

FilmJerk was the first to scoop the fourth film in the franchise claiming that Steve Rash (Disney's Zenon: Z3, Son in Law) was on board to direct the film from a script by newbie scribe Brad Riddell.

Additionally, Moviehole has obtained a casting side from the film with a description of the Matt Stifler character. Apparently Matt has a love interest named Elyse and "every time he almost convinces her that he has a serious, soulful, musical side, he ruins that impression by trotting out the 'Stiffmeister' aspect of his personality and putting it on public display. Horrified to learn that he's regarded by his judgmental peers as an insensitive emotional ******, Matt takes serious steps to improve his testosterone-driven personality, and gives Elyse a sign that he's capable for one brief shining moment of thinking about someone else's needs."

Universal hasn't officially announced the project, but we'll keep you abreast of the latest...

If this happens, I will be really disappointed. It won't be the same American Pie that fans have come to know over the past six years. If it ever comes out I don't think I'll watch it.

god, let the franchise die!!!

American Pie was a GREAT teen film, one of the last of it's kind. American Pie 2 was more of the same but still fun. American Wedding was a nice way to let the series end.

They'll run it into the ground, so long as it makes money.

well, if the last one made over $100 million (all 3 did), I guess they see "well, if it made money and the lead character doesn't die... LET'S MAKE ANOTHER ONE".

These people making the AP movies forget the series is going to wind up tarnished. Trust me, the Police Academy series would be seen in a much better light had they decided "it's a wrap" after pt. 2, instead of milking the franchise until it dwindled down to grossing $10 million.

That's so true.

And I'm in full agreement with the AP movies. Loved 'em, but damn if they didn't milk that one dry.

oh boy. The first 2 were great... 3rd, well.. yeah, it was amusing, I'll give it that... but a 4th one, with none of the original characters? American flop...
