Default Character Changes

Do you noticed Eric used to be reasonably smart during the first few seasons then the last two seasons it seems like his brain shrinked. Some of the things he did... I don't know he just acted weird. Then Shawn who was dumb in the beginning became smarter and more mature. There was one episode in high school that he said he doesn't like poems but in college he said he written them all his life.

Topanga who was a strange girl in season 1 matured (thankfully) later in the show. Cory who was 'normal' in the first seasons became like Topanga in season 1 where he acted weird and not very serious.

not exactly eric wasnt.
in season 1 you really didnt as much of him, so the times you saw him were mainly at home, his "normal" period
but even if they didnt stand out as much in season 1 and 2 his antics kinda suggested he wasnt the brightest -

the episode in season 2 that stands out the most would be
" Breaking Up is Really, Really Hard to Do"
he acted all stupid over the hairdresser and in "Career Day" i think (or another s2 episode) he kept electricuting himself because he was overstressed at those tests.
but what about in season 2 when he tutored someone to raise his grade? and then of course in season 3 it continued a little to by the time he got into college it should of already been understand he wasnt really a serious person - except a few choice moments. I think Eric was popular character and that type of comedy was Will Friedle's strength to some degree.

I think one of the reasons Topanga became more normal is, well like all girls at her age in season1 they can be weird plus i dont think Danielle liked playing weird because according to an old interview Topanga is like Danielle (supposedly).. Shawn i beleive became more mature because the writes copied Rider Strong, Rider has always written poetry. Probably on set and stuff but he also posted alot on his official site back when they were doing the high school and college episodes.
Infact, if what i read's correct they didnt even want to use Rider's real poetry, and i think Rider prefered playing the other shawn because it wasnt like him..

Something I noticed though about Morgan in genral, When they re-introduced her with Lindsay Ridgeway her lines and stuff were much like we saw morgan originally. But after that first new season with Lindsay the lines and stuff changed more and She didnt seem to much like morgan

People tend to get more mature as they get older.

I felt there was so much of a change in Topanga from the first season to the last season, I know she grew up and all, but she didn't seem like the same person at all

Topanga is the best! I thought Angela and Shawn always had an awkward relationship until the final few episodes.

It seems to me like Eric was always stupid, at least in all the episodes ive seen he was
Around Season 3 I think it got more obvious that he was stupid
