Default TV Land Canada Fall 2004 Schedule

This week, TV Land Canada announced their Fall 2004 schedule and here it is:

http://tvzone.channelcanada.com/tvzo...es/TVLand.html

Strengths: A very good mid-afternoon block, featuring "Mary Tyler Moore", "Family Ties", "Get Smart", " The Brady Bunch", and "Happy Days". Overall, not as good as last year's lineup, but still better than most stations on both sides of the border. Those who watch the US TV Land might be curious to compare the two channels and see how they compare.

Weaknesses: No more of those great 'lost' shows from the 60s that you don't see very often on any station, like "Car 54", "Bilko", and "The Addams Family", to name a few. "Get Smart" is the only hit 1960s series that remains in the lineup, and, for me, that doesn't seem right.

The lineup is effective from Sept. to Feb. I'll let you know by then if they make any changes.

TV Land Canada Fall Schedule isquite impressive; I just wish the TV Land of the US would broadcast shows like Hawaii Five-O, Mork and Mindy, Mission Impossible, and The Fugitive...

TV Land Canada's Fall schedule kicks ass compared to TV Land of the US! They're showing Mary Tyler Moore!! I wish the TV Land here would. Maybe I'll move to Canada until the US TV Land has better schedule! lol

Now that's a super lineup of shows that TV Land Canada has, Mission: Impossible,The Fugitive,Gentle Ben,Get Smart,The Mary Tyler Moore Show,Happy Days,Mork and Mindy,Hawaii Five-O and a few more. Too bad that TV Land in the US doesn't carry over with that lineup of shows. I would definitely write to my cable company if that happens, which probably they won't.

Let's just say I'm glad I am currently living in the United States. Despite that TV Land Canada carries Mork and Mindy, Get Smart, and Mary Tyler Moore ... I would rather have TV Land (US). TV Land has a broader selection of shows to choose from. Another thing is that TV Land Canada doesn't offer such shows as The Munsters, The Addams Family, Mister Ed, Green Acres, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show, All In The Family, I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, I Love Lucy, Carol Burnett & Friends, The Flip Wilson Show, ect wheres as TV Land does.

Actually, some of the shows you mentioned are available here. " I Love Lucy", "The Addams Family" and "The Andy Griffith Show" were part of the 2003-04 TV Land Canada schedule but are no longer offered, at least for now. They might come back in 2005. "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "All In The Family", "I Dream Of Jeannie", "Bewitched", and "The Beverly Hillbillies" can be seen on PRIME and DejaView. If you combine the schedules of PRIME, DejaView, and TV Land Canada, you would get something close to what TV Land USA is offering. If you look at it that way, and you stop to read the remarks of those above your post, it looks like the Canadian stations are doing a good job, something which I happen to agree with. If you don't, then on the TV Land Canada web site is a box called "Suggest A Show". You simply type the name of a show that you want to see, and then submit it to the Webmaster. If a particular show gets enough votes, you might see it on the schedule fairly soon. Try it! You have nothing to lose. The site is at:

www.tvlandcanada.com

Unlike certain stations (CTS, for example) I think these guys will listen.

Thanks, Sal. I wish that Car 54 was still on

Do you know if TVL Canada will now be playing season 4/5 of Brady Bunch? Its getting annoying seeing the same episodes OVER and over.

What was King Of Kensington all about??? I know that it was a Canadian show back in the 1970's. Was it ever syndicated here in the United States??? How long did it last and how many episodes???

To answer your questions:

1. The Modfather:

I've noticed that PRIME does the same thing. You never know what you'll get out of them and, yes, it is frustrating, especially if you like to follow a show from beginning to end. Right now, TV Land Canada is showing Season 2 of "The Brady Bunch" and you may have to wait a while to see the later episodes.

2. Braves Fan:

"King Of Kensington" was arguably the best Canadian sitcom of all time, not that there's much competition (although I also loved "The Trouble With Tracy".) It ran on the CBC network in Canada from 1975-80. There are 111 episodes in all. One of them featured an 11 year old Mike Myers in one of his first acting roles. It starred veteran Canadian actor Al Waxman, who would later land on the Emmy-winning series "Cagney and Lacey" as a police chief. "King" might have showed up somewhere in the US, but I'm not aware of where or when it did.

Yeah, I've been following Brady Bunch on TVL, and its been just playing season 1,2, and SOME of 3. I've seen all of thoes episodes 3 times. Same goes with Happy Days, they play episode seasons 6-8 which is also annoying. Luckily CTS plays all episodes of Happy Days. But TVL is really starting to bug me. Thanks, Sal.
