Scenes You Remember Now Edited by Nick at Nite? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Guys,

What scenes from TCS, do you recall from the series original run, that are now edited out by N@N? We had a poster talk about one example in the episode where Elvin demonstrates a wrestling move for Theo. What others can you think of.

We don't have the traditional quick "fade to black" like you see on older sitcomes with TCS, so it may be harder to find where something is indeed cut out.

PS. Do you notice any editing differences with TBS's airings of the episodes or local syndicate when compared to N@N?

Actaully I didn't watch the show's original run, but sometimes you can tell where they cut out something, when the music or laugh track abruptly stops or something.

It looks to me like Carsey-Werner-Mandabach provided Nick At Nite with the syndication edits made betwen 1988 and 1992, and not the original network cuts of The Cosby Show.

That said, most of what's cut wasn't cut out by Nick At Nite at all, but by the distributer themselves.

Well since i just watch the NBC version of the Cosby Show Finale, I was able to see some N@N cuts. When Clair and Cliff return home from the Graduation I never knew the Grandfather came back to the house. I thought that Cliff and Clair only talked to Theo before dancing and walking off the set. But the Grandfather was seen briefly before Theo
