Interview Help!!!

Oh dear God...I'm in like...panic mode or something.

I have this job interview for a clerical job on Thursday. I have the attire thing down and the handshake and all that, but I just know I'm going to screw up the questions. I'm desperate to make this work...I have to sound like I'm the greatest employee ever.

Anyone ever been to this type of interview? What kind of questions do they ask? Man...I wish I could study!!

Eeeeeeeeeew I HATE INTERVIEWS. Seriously, I'm the worst.

Just come up with a lot of big words to use to describe yourself.

What major challenges have you encountered and how did you deal with them?

Do you prefer to work by yourself or with others?

What qualities should a successful employee/manager possess?

What are your expectations from this job?

What do you know about our company?

Those last two are important, it'll better your chances if you show you have some specific knowlede of the company. Good luck, by the way.

One thing i learned from a class I took, be on time, the worst thing to happen is to be late. Oh yeah and be honest.

Good luck. I absolutely HATE anything that involves being under pressure in front of people. It sucks. When I had to read stuff in school in class I would always put the book or whatever I was reading in front of my face.

I took a business course last year so i know quite a bit about job interviews. some of the things they might ask-

Why should we hire you?
What goals do you plan to achieve working here?
What do you like to do in your spare time?
What are your advantages and disadvantages for this job?
How far did you get in school?
Do you prefer to work by yourself or with others?
Why do you want to leave your current job?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
How long will you stay with the company?
What would you do if you caught someone stealing?
What kind of salary would you require to accept this job?

Don't answer any illegal questions unrelated to the job like are you married, where is your family from, etc. And of course be polite, dress nicely and don't be late or anything.

Kidding. I need to come up with real answers.

I don't think saying, "Because I need a job." would be the answer that the employer would be looking for. If I were asked that question in a job interview, I'd say something like, "Because I want to help the company."

I'm not so sure that answer would pass the smell test as far as the "be honest" category goes.

I'm looking at this sample resume I got in High School, and it has awards on it. How important are the awards I got in HS and college to a resume?

The interview is a chance to relate all your strengths and accomplishments (listed categorically on your resume of course) to how you are the right person for the job.

Be calm, confident, and friendly - the interviewer is a person too, they consider how a person would be just to work and get along with.

Google "job interviews", there are good sites out there with the answers to all of those tough questions, and remember - DONT PANIC!
