Is it just me, or was Charlie Farrell (aka Vernon Albright) one of the worst TV actors of all time?

Let's just say his style was dated, even in the early fifties - he started out in silent films.

....I've heard some of the RADIO episodes that were produced at the same time as the TV show, and he's wonderful!! The "wheezes" he delivers from time to time (and the radio writers KNEW they were throwing corny jokes into the script- FREDDIE: "Out of gas?"/VERN: "No, I took some bicarbonate this morning!!") get great reactions from the audience. The fact that he had his own short-lived summer TV series for a time was proof that he STILL had "star power", even in the twilight of his career. He didn't HAVE to act- owning the Palm Springs Racquet Club and all- but he was a "ham". Whenever he appeared on Jack Benny's radio shows from Palm Springs, his "catch-phrase" was, "I'm Charles Farrell- star of 'Seventh Heaven'!". He never failed to get a laugh with that line.......
