Default original Jeopardy

Everyone knows the name and the face of the guy who won the most money, and the biggest daily pot on the NEW "Jeopardy" (Ken Jennings).
However, did you know that the biggest one-day amount on the original Art Fleming "Jeopardy" was $3,150 by a woman named Joan. She won 3 days, and lost on the 4th.

Talking patheticness

$3,150??? That's pathetic! Ken wins soooo much more than that in a day! By the way, who thinks he's hot?

Remember that back in Art Fleming's day, the dollar values for clues was a lot less than it is today. I believe in the original version, dollar values ran from $10 - $50, not $200-$1000 like today.

The first part of what you said is correct. In the Jeopardy! round from the Art Fleming series, answers ranged from $10-$50, while in the "Double Jeopardy" round, the dollar amounts doubled to the following:

$10 becomes $20
$20 " $40
$30 " $60
$40 " $80
$50 " $100

Which is 'peanuts' back then compared to the bigger amounts offered on the popular quiz program today.

Anyway, nice to see you here, TV Favorites!

I remember watching it when it was on when I was a kid. I'd love to see reruns of them today. My Mom wouldn't give us lunch until Jeopardy was over.

I remember the original Jeopardy! with Art Fleming as host and Don Pardo as the announcer. I'll always remember Art's line before he revealed the Final Jeopardy answer "Please be sure it's in the form of a question." It's a shame the show lasted only 11 years because of Lin Bolen, VP of Daytime for NBC's tampering with its time slot. The current Alex Trebek run is still going strong in its 22nd season.

Does any of the old shows exsist?!Remember, they said the same thing about classic Hollywood Squares only to find out that nearly all of the old episodes wasn't deleted.I'm wiiling to bet that there are old Jeopardy episodes laying somewhere in a vault collecting dust.

I've seen an ep from 1974 and 5 mins of an ep from 1966, as well as the last ep from 1975, in addition to the eps you mention here. I hope more eps exist somewhere else. The UCLA Library or Library of Congress may have more eps also.
