Default Who do you like better?

Okay, do you like Alanis Morissette or Avril Lavigne better? It's obvious who I like better but I like Alanis too.

"I don't love this anymore,"

Who's to think about?
The brighter I shine, the darker my shadows.
And they pull me behind, as I let off the pedal.
Why should I divide what feels so right?
Is this where I want to lay?

I like Alanis 1000 times more than Avril. Jagged and Supposed were both much better than anything Avril's done IMO.

why even compare the two? they are completely different, and it is an insult to Alanis and her fans to even put her in the same sentence with someone like Avril Lavigne.

Alanis' rivals are more along the lines of Sheryl Crow and Shorley Manson while Avril's rivals are more along the lines of Hilary Duff and Ashlee Simpson. There is absolutely nothing in common between the two of them. Avril's fans are mostly teenies and Alanis' fans are usually in their 20's.

Plus, unlike Avril, Alanis has LIVED the songs she's written.

exactly, if you're going to compare Alanis with a "younger generation" female singer... wouldn't Michelle Branch be a better fit?
