Default TV Adam Against Lions Gate

Lions Gate has released the first season of ALF. That's great news and I bought the DVD happily. However, the episodes are edited! Most shows, uncut come to 24-25 minutes. ALF was only 22 minutes, without commercials. Why would Lions Gate give us edited versions? They did the same with Saved by the Bell. They, for most episodes used the syndicated opening and cut up episodes.

Down with Lions Gate!!!!!!!!!

We should do something, I just don't know what.

Anybody angry with me?

Why would they do something like that? Is is cheaper for Lion's gate to put the edited eps on DVD?

That's just stupid. One of the best things about DVDs of TV shows is being able to watch the original Network TV cut instead of the shortened syndicated ones.

I mean if we wanted them cut up, we'd tape them off the networks(if they air on tv). They probably figure since ALF isn't on tv, we would take it anyway we could get it.

Adam you and any other ALF fans, outta write to Lion's Gate and complain

I saw scenes on my SBTB DVD that I had never seen before, so I don't think they're cut.

They should run 24 minutes, if they don't they are chopped.
All shows form that time period run between 23:30 and 24:30.
This is the main reason I didn't buy the set, although I was looking forward to it before reading the reviews.

Some of the episodes might be uncut, I don't know. But I do know that at least one episode had a scene cut out. It's a scene that was cut out of syndication, and I was looking forward to seeing the scene again and was disappointed when it wasn't there. I know that some SBTB episodes have their original opening credits. Maybe those episodes are uncut. But like I said, I'm not sure.

I think Warner is equally to blame.

I just went to TV Shows on DVD.com and that article was removed. It said Lions Gate is coming up with a better explanation.

I'm not as mad as I was, but it still sucks. At least they're addressing the matter.

That might be a good sign, maybe they're getting enough flack for this, that they'll decide to re release it uncut

There would be my complaint. Some of the episodes have original openings, some don't. That's just dumb.

I just thought of something. How about someone create a petition from petitiononline.com asking Lion's Gate to release ALF uncut?

I know, when are companies going to realize that

tvshowsondvd.com gave ALF Season 1 a very bad review:

I agree with all of it
