Stupid characters are generally my least favorite, but some of them are absolutely great.
Let's do this by show 1. Lisa Douglas (Green Acres) Lisa is absolutely hilarious, I cant get enough of the way she is always getting words confused, like the time she said "Why do you want to irritate the corn?" "not irritate it, irrigate it, pour water on it" "But wont that irritate it?" and the time the Ziffel's came over to consult Oliver, and Lisa said "Oliver dear, the Ziffel's are hear to insult you" 2. Coach, Woody Boyd (Cheers) Coach was absolutely great, just the way he failed to grasp so many of the things that were going on. Also the way he was always talking about his Hit By Pitch records. Woody was great because he was just incredibly simple minded, and would always tell great antecdotes that didnt even relate to the subject ("My Grandpa once caught a rat the size of a pig..or was it a pig the size of a rat") 3. Peter Griffen, Chris Griffen (Family Guy) Peter is funny because he says things unbelievably stupid all the time ("Lois, are you crazy, women cant drive") Chris is funny because he is just entirely akward 4. Christmas Snow (Three's Company) Chrissy is funny because she is always talking about truth and honesty, and it gets them into great situations (such as the episode about Roper's car). Chrissy is also great because she tends to treat people like they are stupid, and make terrible analogys that make absolutely no sense. (Note: I dont particularly like Cindy or Mr Furley, which is why they weren't mentioned as stupid people I liked in Three's Company) 5. Dale Gribbald (King of the Hill) Dale couldn't be more stupid or pathetic. They are constantly making jokes about how weak he is. It also went on for so long not knowing about the affair between Nancy and John Redcorn (he never found out, but the affair ended). Dale also has great conspiracy theories, that are generally completely ridiculous |

Ted Baxter - The Mary Tyler Moore Show
IMO, he's the best "dumb" character ever. Ted Knight played him perfectly. Lowell Mather - Wings I love how he was just always off the wall. Kind of reminds me of Woody or Coach on "Cheers." Rose Nylund - The Golden Girls Three words: St. Olaf Story! 'Nuf said ![]() Edit - Corky Sherwood (Season 1) - Murphy Brown and Miller Redfield Both these FYI anchors were on the dim side, especially Miller. But I love them both.
