I know Barry Williams used his middle name when he changed surnames, but if he would have chosen a surname beginning with N, look at the alphabetical listing we would have.

Knight
Lookinland
McCormick
N
Olsen
Plumb

See the pattern?

I really do think about important things too--really I do!

Another possibility would have been for Chris Knight to spell his name phonetically as Chris Night, then they could have had a 5-name straight:

Lookinland
McCormick
Night
Olsen
Plumb

Or if Barry had chosen an "N" surname, then Florence Henderson could've become Florence Quigley, then all eight of them would be:

Knight
Lookinland
McCormick
N (maybe he could've been another Barry Nelson

)
Olsen
Plumb
Quigley
Reed
