Sophia's Empty Nest Run - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I think that Lifetime should pick up Empty Nest. It was on for 7 years (1988-1995). Plus Sophia joined the cast during its last 2 years (1993-1995) which was awesome. It felt like Golden Girls got an extended run. They really need to air Empty Nest, because it was a big part of Golden Girls history, and since a lot of younger fans whom were not even born during Empty Nest's original run need to be brought up on Sophia's run on the show.

I agree. They should pick up Nurses again too and run all 3 series.

Interesting bit of trivia: Estelle Getty holds the distinction of playing the same character on 4 different series: Sophia Petrillo on Golden Girls, Empty Nest, Golden Palace and Blossom (in a cameo) - no other actress can make this claim.
