Default "I Am Curious...Maddie"

"_____________"

no answer. just confusion with answers not spoken. sam figured out that david stood between him and maddie. he confronts david and tells him he is not good enough for her. later, they fight. dave takes the first punch, but gets the worst end of it.
maddie earlier gave dave the chance to say what was on his mind. and he didn't.
she goes home to tell sam she won't marry him. he's gone and david hears her confession. they argue, call each other names, and she slaps david. then, the moment came. as they embraced nothing stood in their way. passion overtook them.
the new era begins.

loved the opening with the parody of "movietone news".

another great episode.

rating: 9

Hey Bobby! I'm like you, Moonlighting is one of the ONLY shows that can sustain me like that when I'm watching it.

WOW! What could possible be said about this episode that hasn't already been said....

Back in March 1987...I remember all the excitement leading up to this episode and what a big deal was made out of it in the press and on the radio stations and around the water coolers at work and everywhere!

I seriously cannot remember a time before or since then that a bigger deal was made over two TV characters having sex than was made about this episode. Sure fans inside fan communities talk about their fav characters having sex....but I am talking about across the board.... in the press, in public, just every where....this was one of the major topics of conversation the spring of 1987.

Ok I know I posted the last comment here and the usual procedure is to let someone else comment but this is something I have been meaning to ask others about....and before I forget, I want to post it.

I have people who write into my site that comment on this episode and several of them really believe that David and Maddie actually made love for the first time on the living room floor.... they think that they did it right there on the floor and then later when we see them in Maddie's bed that is after the first time--right before they do it again.

Now I just never saw the scene that way....I always took it that they started it downstairs but finished it upstairs in the bed....

but what do you guys think? Are these people correct??? And sorry if this post offends anyone.....

Default Downstairs, Upstairs....

No offense at all C!
I believe that they started downstairs with a lot of rolling around, heavy kissing and touching and exploring.
Then I believe, he picked Maddie up in his arms and carried her upstairs where they made love for the first AND second time.
(according to Dave also a third time) LOL

That's my opinion if anybody wants to know anyway!

I agree with Cindy and Taz. I always thought David did a "Gone With The Wind" carry Maddie up the stairs into the bedroom kind of thing.

Was that two or three times? The mind reels...

Oh kismet! This is exciting comparing the two scenes...and with Maddie's staircase sorta like the one at the Butler home in Atlanta....this would really be an effective visual. Rhett & Scarlett were battling lovers too.... And Rhett always had that bad boy image much like David A. CLASSIC!!

Cindy, I really apreciate you telling these kind of things, because I don't know that stuff since I was too young and didn't watch the show by that time. If you can, keep telling this stories!! They're great!! I can imagine millions of people talking about Maddie and Dave doing it and all the publicity... god, that must have been great!!!!

Ok, first of all, your post is not offensive at all. And about the question, I'm with you in that one, Cindy. I always thought they started the thing over there and then went upstairs and made love.

I agree...I really appreciate your first-hand knowledge as well, as I was also too young to see ML in its first runs. It's cool to know how big this show and this particular episode were at the time they originally aired.

As for the actual episode...I loved every minute of it. The Big Bang scene is the most vivid memory I have of ML. What a great - and very fitting - way to finally bring these two together! This is Maddie and Dave we're talking about...it had to start with a fight.

I also loved the music selection of "Be My Baby." I know I've read some things on your site, Cindy, about the song being somewhat of a controversial choice, but I thought it was just perfect. In fact, every time I hear it on the radio, I think of that great scene.

Ohhh don't do this to me!! It's my favorite movie of all the times!!!! (yes, I'm also a romantic, can't help it!) And thinking about THAT particular scene... oh god, it makes me tremble. It's a wonderful moment. And of course, Maddie and David scene is just the same... I think I've said before that this is my favorite episode. I just think it is perfect in every possible way. They had one of the biggest fights ever, and they ended up just like they HAD to en up. Too much pressure and represed feelings for so long... it was a torture, really!! And such a release FINALLY seeing them like that...

You remember when we were talking about feeling the scenes in your stomach? (I think it was in Cybill's site, I'm not sure ) Well, this is definitly the scene I felt with all my heart and my stomach, hehe. I had such a feeling in my stomach, I was having butterflies all over it, hehe. The first time I saw this part I was so shocked and having so many feelings inside... It was wonderful. And... I know the dialogues by heart, I already said this, hehe

the song was perfect. and being that it is in the genre of music dave likes so much, it was just right.

some of you new younger folks obviously do not know just how popular dave and maddie were. they were bigger than the show. at times, people that didn't watch moonlighting knew who they were and what was going on because the media gave them a lot of exposure.
