Don't go to bed tonight at all tonight. Then you will be sleepy by 11pm tomorrow.

Go to bed tonight when you are tired (which Im guessing will be around 4am lol), but set your alarm for 8 or 9am. Do that for a few days, then sooner or later your body will give in and youll want to go to bed a lot earlier. Also, try relaxing before you go to bed. I know it sounds ultra lame, but one night before I went to sleep, I did these stretches/meditation for about 5 min. and just took deep slow breathes, and it really calmed me down.

Excellent advice. I guess I don't really need to be in here, lol.

But I know what you're going through... now I'm on a kick of staying up past my usual 4:30, and falling asleep at around 6 AM. (At least I have more time to get my schedule together. )

Plus if I wake up early, people will bug me. Seriously, my parents will have me do things or my nephew (who we watch during his vacation til school starts up) will bug me to play with him all day. So I just try and go unnoticed in my room like a hermit.

I'm trying to do that too. Even though I have nowhere to go.

I've done it myself... the bad news is, with me... once I wake up early, I always say "Well, I'll start this tomorrow instead" and I sleep in more. I have ended up doing that everyday until school starts.

Sarah, don't be like me.

Take melatonin, if you have any around. You can pick up a jar at your local kmart or walmart...

Melatonin is supposed to make you sleepy. I had to take them after I got home from England to help me get back into my normal sleeping schedule and not England's, due to the fact school was still in session and I had to be back by the next day.

*slaps around* It doesnt matter woman! MAKE yourself get up. Seriously, put your alarm at the other end of the room so you actually have to move. Then make yourself go to the bathroom or whatever. It really wouldnt matter what time you woke up.. youre still gonna feel groggy. And if you get TOO much sleep, youre gonna be slow and groggy all day.

Unfortunately, the only thing that's helping me regulate my sleep patterns and insomnia are medications.

I'm on Trazodone, an anti-depressant, and Zyprexa, an anti-psychotic to help me sleep... among all of my other medicines. Perhaps you should look into seeing a psychiatrist if your sleeping problems are getting intense. He/she will probably prescribe you an anti-depressant. They don't really prescribe barbiturates anymore- they're too damn dangerous.
