Question Mrs. Brady grumpier later seasons

I noticed now that I have been watching the later seasons on tv does Carol seem a little bit more grumpy in the later seasons? Not Florence Henderson Carol Brady. Or is it just my opinion?

She did change. She was more assertive and spoke her mind.

In the first season, she was timid and meek. She spoke slower and seemed more reserved.

In one of the later seasons, I didn't like when she had her old boyfriend, Tank Williams, over and was openly flirting with him.

I also didn't like when she made the bet with Mike about finding out who 'Bobo' was from high school. She only got it right because 'Bobo' told her. Then she made Mike get up several times when he was in bed to get her things. You could tell she was just doing it to bug him.

I don't know about grumpier, but Florence certainly got hammier towards the end. The Tank Gates (not Williams) episode shows this. Check out the scene where Tank calls out, "Where's my Twinkles", and Florence calls out "Here I am, Tank!" It's really pretty bad. And her hamminess knows no bounds in the reunion movies/specials. She delivers her lines all singsong-y, and comes off really fake.

I have to agree with you guys here. Mrs Brady's character did change over the years. It was probably due to all the attention the show was recieving and that built her confidence up as an actor. Thus she thought she could explore her comedic boundaries a little more. Personally I liked the Carol from the first few seasons. Her attitude change could have also been the result of letting Greg "Lay the pipe" to her!!!!!!

Maxamillon - I assume you're just joking with your last ascertion? It's been discounted by both Greg AND Carol that nothing ever happened between them in real life. The only inappropriate contact between cast members that I'm aware of was between Jan and Doug Simpson (the big man on campus). Apparently, they had a relationship off the set. He was a number of years older than her and the producers decided to discontinue his character.

I never heard of that one.

I did hear that Greg & Marcia, Peter & Jan, and Bobby & Cindy all, ahem, liked each other.
