The city was never specifically mentioned in the series, but it is widely assumed that they lived in a suburb of Los Angeles (in the San Fernando Valley). They lived someplace where it didn't snow; where it was close enough for Greg to go surfing; and where it was close enough for the Bradys to visit a movie studio (when cousin Oliver came aboard). The home that was used for the exterior shots is actually located in the San Fernando Valley. In addition, in "A Very Brady Christmas", Alice goes to pick some of the kids up at the airport, and it is very clearly LAX.

Also, it must have been far from Florida because that's where Cindy wanted to call from to tell the others about putting on the Snow White play.

I thought Alice didn't drive.

On another board, I think I suggested one time that the name of the town/city could have been Westdale, since that was the name of their High School.

Fillmore Junior High could have been named after President Millard Fillmore (a bad choice by the way), and Clinton Avenue Elementary School was of course, named for the street on which it was located.

The closest thing to mentioning the city they lived in was when someone received a package (I think it was Jan's locket) and the address was given as 4222 Clinton Way, City.

I've heard that, in certain parts of the country, if you put "City" on an envelope like that, the post office will assume that it's a local letter, although I don't see why you wouldn't just put the name of the town on the envelope instead of the word "city".

Anyway, my guess is "Westdale". But as TV Guy pointed out, the name of the city was never specified on the actual show.

Remember, there were several high schools in the city where the Bradys lived. In the episode "Today I Am a Freshman", Marcia was lamenting that all her friends from junior high were going to Tower High School, just because of "the stupid street we live on", which indicates that the city had multiple high schools. I believe it was implied that Fairview High, from "Quarterback Sneak", was also in the same city, and that there was an intra-city rivalry with Westdale. Since we know that at least Westdale High and Tower High were in the same city, then I'd say it's unlikely that the city was actually named Westdale -- more likely that the part of town where the Bradys lived was called Westdale.

In the series she didn't, but sometime between the series and A Very Brady Christmas she learned.

Makes one wonder how she got there so fast to be the babysitter on "The Honeymoon"? Perhaps a cab? But do they accept pets as passengers?
