Default Favorite hard rock bands from a poll my friend made

a few days ago, one of my friends asked a lot of her friends who like hard rock what their top 20 hard rock bands are.

These are the results, I am kinda shocked at how low Metallica is, but the two biggest metal fans I know hate them. She took 10 different polls from people and tabulated results (#1 on a list would get 20 pts... #2 would get 19, #20 would get 1) and then published the results. I am the only person who ranked Metallica she told me.

1 Motley Crue
2 Skid Row
3 Kiss
4 AC/DC
5 Ozzy Osbourne
6 Poison
7 Aerosmith
8 Guns N Roses

Guess I will have to go with Van Halen or Metallica. Van Halen first!

Great, now I'll never get "Cherry Pie" out of my head.

my friend Christine (one of the reasons Warrant ranked so high) dated Jani Lane back in the late 1980's, he even wrote the song "Let It Rain" for her

Definitely. Led Zeppelin is probably the most influential hard rock band in history. They practically wrote the book on hard rock. Just about every band over the past 30 years have taken from Zeppelin. Every singer wants to be like Robert Plant. Every guitarist wants to be Jimmy Page. Every drummer wants to be like Bonzo. They should be no. 1 (Van Halen at no. 2, in my opinion).

well, everyone who voted were people who grew up mostly with 80's metal. Zeppelin might be the best, but it's groups like Crue, Poison and GNR that our memories reside with better.
