Default Are there any other Jeffersons Fans besides me who never thought Florence was

Funny? I never laughed at her insults toward George, only George's insults toward her.

She was only funny when she was fighting with George, without him, she was pretty forgetable...

I actually liked Marla Gibbs more when she was on 227; even though her character had a very dry sense of humor

I thought she was better on 227 too, but as for on The Jeffersons, she herself wasn't funny, but I don't think the series would've lasted as long as it did if it had not been for the interaction between her and George.

I disagree, Marla Gibbs was only seen twice in season 1 and the show finished #4 in the ratings

Im not saying it wouldnt be a success without her, Im just saying she added more life into the show, which helped it last so long.

I disagree I found Florence to be pretty funny. Much funnier than Tom and Helen Willis.

Once again, they made George funnier, but on their own they were boring.

Tom never made me laugh but Helen made me laugh one time in her response to George's comment on she should have never married Tom Willis. Helen told George

"Look Man, I am Happy with what I got, because he is everything you are not"

and then George comes back and says

"i know you're happy with what you got because you yourself ain't that red hot"

CLassic 1975 Jeffersons moment.

Tom had his moments, but Helen was as unfunny as they come.

Tom I did not think was funny. A matter of fact I found that he did not have any backbone. Helen was running the show. Helen was a very strong person with backbone. I love her comments to George and I remember the episode in the final season when Lionel and Jenny announced their divorce Helen was over the top. She told Louise how she allowed George to push her around and her comebacks when they got into it was impecible. Her and Louise balanced each other out well.

Florence was a scream especially in her remarks to George. In the episode Louise vs. Florence she went there on Louise especially about the Help Center being a place for rich ladies with nothing to do.
