When I was a kid Unsolved Mysteries always scared my kid brother so I wasn't allowed to watch it. One night in the early 1990s I can't remember what year it was there was a story on there. It was about this girl in 1983 South Florida probably Ft Lauderdale area although I am not sure about that. Supposedly the popular teen movie 1983's Spring Break had been the scene for alot of shady underworld figures and this Florida girl was cast as an extra or something in the movie. I can't remember all I know is Robert Stack mentioned this movie in the story. He then went on to say after a period of wierd depression after the film wrapped the girl suddenly left her mothers house wandered up onto I 95 and the last anyone ever saw of her she was walking up the Interstate. At the end of the report it said "If alive she would be 28 years old." I never saw an update or a re run. Years later this show still haunts me. DOES ANYONE know what the heck show disapearrance or who the heck this was ?

The missing girl that you're talking about is Tammy Leppart. She was a teen model and was supposed to be in the Al Pacino movie, Scarface, but she had a breakdown on the set while watching a violent scene being filmed. She began screaming and crying, saying something about money laundering and that someone was trying to kill her. Her mother mentioned in the segment that she wishes that she could've taken Tammy and put her into hiding so that nothing wouldn't happened to her. Very strange story, it scares me everytime I think about it.

There is speculation that serial killer Christopher Wilder may be responsible for the disappearance of Tammy Leppart. Here's his story -

I wonder if Tammy's mom or friends have ever been shown pictures of Christopher Wilder to see if they recoginize him. As far a Christopher's early M.O. (before he went on his random rampage) he seemed to kill or rape girls he was previously acquainted with. Does anyone know if he was conclusively in Florida in 1983? |

Just wanted to add some additional info..
Christopher Wilder was in Florida in 1983, if I recall correctly. I don't believe he began killing girls that he was acquainted with, but I could be wrong. Part of his MO was to pose as a photographer and meet pretty young women in public places. He would tell them he wanted to use them in a photo shoot. Then, when he had them in his car, he would kidnap, torture, and, finally, murder them. Here is a thread that I started on the case two years ago: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...threadid=28960 Tammi's brother-in-law actually contributed to the discussion. Sadly, Tammi's mother passed away in 1997 without knowing what happened to her daughter. |

Thanks diesteldorf. My bad...I meant he knew the first two homicide victims in Florida. (He dated Elizabeth Kenyon and must have previously seen Rosario Gonzales at the racetracks) How horrible to hear that Tammi's mother had passed!!! I pray that she and Tammi have united on the other side, for most likely (and pardon the pessimism) Tammi is no longer among the living after all these years. But by keeping her memory alive here, perhaps someday, someone will log onto this message board and provide the answers that have plagued law enforcement for so long. My heart goes out to her friends and family that they may find closure.

Is this the case where she thought that someone was trying to poison her at dinner? And is this the case where she and her boyfriend had a fight while driving in the car, so he just dropped her off and she walked away and was never seen again? I also recall that when she disappeared, she was only 17-years-old.
