Today I watched Unsolved Mysteries and they were doing something on a missing woman. Detectives found bones, a skull, and a bag of human flesh in their (the woman and her husband) back yard. They then showed a scene where the husband had been asked about the bones and such they found in his back yard and his reply was, "The skull and bone remnants found in my yard are as big a mystery as the disappearance of my wife."
I mean seriously, how can people be so stupid? |

I saw it too. Dude, you never know if someone tried to set that guy up. That person that called the police station and said "You need to check the back yard because her husband killed her" could very well have been the person who actually killed her. How easy is it to kill someone and put their bones in their own back yard? You can't convict someone on that alone.

Your speaking of the 1997 case of Monika Rizzo, and her husband Leonard Rizzo, from San Antonio Texas. Infact Ive done research on this case for a few papers.
When Monika was first reported missing on May 5 1997 her parents Bill and Monika McKinney thought that Monika had fled the state. On August 5 1997 archeologist spent hours digging in the earth behind the Rizzos house. While her parents sat in front of the house crying and waiting for news, bones of atleast 3 human bodies were found. Investigators confirmed later that some of the bones dug up were infact that of Monika Rizzo. On Sat May 29 1999 (BEFORE THE SKULL RESULTS) Leonard held his then girlfriend hostage in his home and assaulted her. Swat teams arrived and were able to take down Leonard Rizzo by shooting him. On Wed. June 23 1999 investigators publicly announced that that the skull found in the Rizzos backyard was infact a genetic match to his wife Monika Rizzo. Theres a lot of very interesting information about this case. I was unable to EVER find out if Leonard Rizzo ever infact did go to JAIL. I called newspapers, and local news outlets. If anyone finds out any new information ID LOVE to hear it. I hope this info helps out! |
