Default Did anyone know that the Three Degress was actually a Real Singing Group from Philly?

I never knew that and just found out yesterday that the Three Degrees was a real singing group from the city of Philadelphia inside a 1974 issue of Jet Magazine.

I knew that they were a group, but do not know they were from the Philadelphia area...

WOW..What an incredible collection; I am assuming most of your collection came from E-Bay; because E-Bay is where I generally buy most of my magazines from the 70s & 80s...

I believe my father had some of their albums. I am not sure if they were a part of the sound of Philadelphia (T.S.O.P.) but I will look into it.

Default Good line from that ep...

Fred: Allright, I'll eat, you girls rehearse, & Rollo - you sit down and shut up.

---

Also, Fred's singing of those "boops" were great when the girls were rehearsing the "Be My Baby" song...

They were indeed part of TSOP (The Sound of Philly). They did the theme for the show "Soul Train" titled TSOP in early 1974.
Their big hit was "When Will I See You Again?" from September 1974. They had been performing since teh mid 1960's as a group in Philly. Record collecting is another of my hobbies along with watching way too much TV.

I thought so. I am a young guy, but I was surrounded by that type of music growing up. I still prefer the classics to the current music. Holland-Dozier-Holland must have worked with them.

Fred: "You and Lamont managing a singing group??"

Rollo: "Yeah!"

Fred: "I'm going back to the toilet."
