Okay, everytime I go to check my Yahoo email, I put in my username and password in and then the screen comes up where I can go to my inbox, bulk mail, etc. Then I don't get a chance to click anything before THIS comes up (see attached picture). It's not a popup, technically, cos it opens in the same window. I can't check my email for the life of me and this "popup" also made itself my homepage.
Also, for those of you who don't know, two days ago, I deleted everything off my computer. I used the disks that come with Dell and made it so the computer thinks it's brand new. It shouldn't be having problems!!! PLEASE can someone help? |

That message kept popping up for me when I had that homepage hijacker spyware thing. I just ran Adaware and Spybot, and it left.

Crap, that's a browser hijacker you have going there. The famous "about:blank" hijacker.
I see you have an IM window open to talk to AAOT...Has he been telling you to use HijackThis? Usually...when you run HT, it should get rid of most browser hijackers. |

Close the browser and run Adaware. sounds like you went to a certain site that installed this. it Adaware fails get HijackThis and find a forum and post the log file and someone will help you. you also need some internet and virus security running.

Go here to post the log file of HijackThis http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showforum=44
You either got this from an infected site or you didn't format the hard drive when you cleaned you computer. |

I did -- I've used it for about 2 weeks now. I was getting a download dialog box from www.casalmedia.com (there's a Casal Media banner here, they're the stupid flashing banners) and it was really pissing me off. I switched for good and haven't had a problem here ever since. ![]() The best thing? No popups. I don't even need to have Google Toolbar installed on here. I'm not using any popup blockers AT ALL. |
