I posted this in another message board and was chewed out because it's 'disrespectful' to our Asian minorities.?? Since there are so may of you here, I would like to know your opinion.

No, because all your doing is posting phrases and what they mean in Chinese, and it doesn't seem offensive to me.

Hey, I'm not Asian, but I am foreign. I've heard jokes like that with my native tongue and they've always made me laugh. I don't know why they were offended...

No that is making fun of Chinese. Those phrases do not really mean that. Sound them out, it's a joke.

To the overly sensitive, it might be. I can't say I'd be offended if I saw the Asians making fun of the English language.

I don't find it offensive but some Chinese people might find it offensive. Just think this way: If you have to ask if something is offensive it probably is.

IT looks like it was written by a Chinese with a sense of humor. So sad that some others don't find that. This person said that 'how would I feel if it was about a latina(since I am one) instead of an Asian; I just said that it wouldn't bother me since I had to pick which battles were worth fighting.

That's what I mean. It's not stereotyping anybody. I'm Latin American - and I myself have made jokes like that with Portuguese and English.

Could somebody explain what is so offensive about it? Just don't say it is - say WHY it is. I'm curious. And confused.
