Default Hee Haw!!!

Just got the Hee Haw set from Time-Life. Boy what memories!

Love the part where they all gather around and Roy Clark and Buck Owens tell jokes --- "I'm A Picker" --- "And I'm A Grinner"

Hee Haw was a very good show. It premiered in June 1969 on CBS as a summer replacement to the cancelled Smothers Brothers Show,it drew a huge audience and came back in December 1969 and lasted until the summer of 1971. It was cancelled by CBS because of its rural audience even though it finished in the top 20 in the last year on CBS. But it automatically went into first run syndication in the fall of 1971 and it became a bigger ratings hit than it was when it was on CBS. It lasted for 21 more years and ended in 1992. But they are aired reruns of the show for another year after that and was on TNN in reruns from 1994-1996. It was hosted by Buck Owens and Roy Clark, two of the biggest country stars ever. I used to watch it every Saturday night when it was on. Also Hee Haw is in stores on DVD,so far 2 DVD's have come out. One is the very first episode that aired in 1969 which features Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride, and the other is from 1973 and features Johnny Cash. I wish that CMT in the United States would bring back Hee Haw,because CMT's programming has been dull as of late. You have reruns of The Dukes of Hazzard,Matlock, and Little House On The Prairie. We don't have any reruns of any show on CMT. They seem to show more specials than videos.

hee haw: hands down, the best!
that's what you get when you have people like johnny cash, tammy wynette, and george jones and dolly parton.... the best!
plus nobody beats junior samples!

Cool

If you watch TV late at night you've probably noticed the Time/Life infomercial for the Ultimate Hee Haw Collection. That's right Time/Life owns the rights to Hee Haw and have their infomercial in pretty heavy rotation. It's hosted by Roy Clark(in a very obvious toupee) and emphasizes both the charms of the Hee Haw regulars and the many famous guest stars.
