Default Question about the episode aired on October 6, 1981

Just wondering if someone could help me that watched TC during it's original run. When the first episode of the 6th season was aired before the episode started was the Zoo opening credits shown? I'm asking because viewers didn;t know who Terri was before the episode started so just wanted to know what opening credits was used before the episode started on October 6, 1981

As far as I recall, it was. I think there was some publicity about Priscilla Barnes joining the cast during the previous summer, so fans of the show pretty much knew what was happening.

Sounds Odd that a character would be in the opening credits before appearing in any TC episode.thanks

Didn't Furley and Lana appear in the credits their first episodes?

I think Furley and Lana's scenes were added in after the first episode. I'm not sure about Furley but I know for a fact that Lana's scene was added after the first episode

I was wondering about that too. I've seen the first ep of season four ("Jack on the Lam") in syndication and in the opening credits neither Ann Wedgeworth or Don Knotts were credited. I'm guessing the syndicated version was different than how it originally aired. I also read at the TV Tome site that the fourth season opening originated with the last episodes of season 3. ("Jack Moves Out" & "Triangle Troubles") However, I've recently seen "Jack Moves Out" with season three credits that include the Ropers. That's really weird. Hopefully, whenever I get the seasons 3 & 4 DVDs I'll find out how they originally aired.

From "Raising Dad" a short lived sitcom with Bob Saget of "Full House" fame.

OK so i was right. The scene with Furley on the Merry go round and Lana sitting on the bench was added in after both characters were introduced on the show.

Anne Wedgewoth was in the opening credits on the first show she appeared in as was Don Knotts in the first show he appeared in. The season premiere of season 4 they weren't credited because they weren't on the show yet.
