I always wondered why Ed and Trixie had such a nicely decorated apartment compared to Ralph and Alice's drab, bare apartment especially when Ralph and Ed made the same money! Why do you think this was?

Because Ralph was cheap and Norton had many credit accounts.

The only thing that was odd, is Norton and Ralph did almost the exact same things ie play pool, bowl, racoon lodge etc. Yet Ralph was always broke and Norton had money(not much, but more than Ralph)

Yeah and plus both apartments appeared to have the same layout.Do you suppose they used the same studio set interior for both places,and decorated it for the Nortons?

Yes, The Classic-39 Honeymooners were filmed on one stage only...New York City's Adelphi Theater. The sets were simply changed when it was time to go to Norton's apartment, or the Racoon lodge hall, etc. The various sets had to be within the same dimensions so the cameras could photograph the action easily.
