Miscellaneous Dads is about four fathers of kids (one divorced, one widowered, one married, one unmarried) who try to manage their work, their kids, some privacy, their exes, their new love lives, and their friends at the same time without causing chaos-which does happen quite often. One father, Mark LeClair (Ted McGinley) and his ex-wife, Julie (Laurie Metcalf) are divorced. Mark and Julie have two kids, Kayla, 15, and Michael, 10. Mark and Julie have split custody of the kids. Another father, Tim Anderson (Tim Allen) and his deceased wife, Jane, have also two kids, Kevin, 17, and Lindsay, 13. Jane died giving birth to their third and last born child 12 years ago, who also died minutes after Jane died. Tim has been a single dad of two kids ever since Jane and the baby died. Another father, Mitch Campbell (Damon Wayans) has 8 year old daughter, Megan, from a former girlfriend of his, Kelly (Vivica A. Foxx), who in the past wanted nothing to do with Mitch and Megan, but now wants to become a big part of Mitch and Megan's lives. Another father, Keith Richardson (Matthew Perry) and his wife, Nicole (Heather Locklear) have three kids, Kimberly, 13, Logan, 11, and Justin, 7. Nicole is 6 months pregnant with Keith's and her fourth child. Mitch, Mark, Tim, and Keith all work at the same advertsing agency and are best friends.

Ep1: Four Fathers:
Tim Anderson, Mark LeClair, Mitch Campbell, and Keith Richardson decide to have a get-together. Tim decides to host a barbecue at his house. The families meet for the first time. Meanwhile, Mark is trying to bribe Julie (Metcalf) into letting him have Kayla and Michael for the weekend for Tim's barbecue.

Ep2: School Problems:
Kevin (Berfield) and Kayla (Larsen) decide to get to know each other better now that their dads, Tim and Mark, are friends. Tim and Mark are extremely happy to see Kayla and Kevin getting along. While, on the other hand, Tim's 13 yr old daughter, Lindsay, and Keith's 13 yr old daughter, Kimberly, are both competeing for the vacant spot on the Jr High's Cheerleading Squad. Kimberly and Lindsay become enemies and can't stand to be in same room. End result is nor Lindsay nor Kimberly make the team, but use each other for support and eventually become the best of friends.

Ep3: Return Of Megan's Mommy:
Mitch is aware of his former girlfriend 8 yrs ago is back in town. That old girlfriend is Megan's mom (Foxx) who just up and took off, and left Megan with Mitch. Now, Kelly wants to become Megan's mom and Mitch's wife all of a sudden. Mitch doesn't think Kelly is too serious, so he doesn't want to leave Megan alone with Kelly. Tim's deceased wife, Jane's parents are in town and want to see their grandchildren, but Kevin is too busy with Kayla, and Lindsay is too busy with Kimberly. Which breaks Jane's parents' hearts.

Ep4: Day Care Wanted:
To celebrate thier 15th wedding anniversary, Keith and Nicole (Locklear) want to go away for the weekend, but don't know what to do with the kids. Kimberly spends the weekend with Lindsay. Logan and Justin spend the weekend with Michael. Mark is about to blow his top with the constant running around of Michale, Logan, and Justin. Kelly wants to introduce Mitch and Megan to her wealthy, yet snobby parents-who love Megan, but don't care for Mitch.

Ep5: Your Son and Your Daughter:
Tim catches Kevin and Kayla making out in his king-sized bed while no one was home. Tim questions if they have had sex or not yet. Tim tells Mark (and Mitch and Keith too) about what he saw. Kimberly and Lindsay throw a slumber party at Kim's house, but Kimberly's little brothers are getting on EVERYONE'S nerves. Kelly asks Mitch out to a dinner and a movie, he accepts and soon finds himself falling back in love with Kelly.

Ep6: The Big Project:
Mitch, Mark, Keith, and Tim find themselves tied up at work with a big client. Kevin, Kayla, Lindsay, and Kimberly attend a high school party-where beer is available!. Kelly and Nicole decide to become a little closer during a trip to the mall, which brings the two women to a great friendship.

Ep7: A Trip To Remember:
Tim, Mark, and Keith bring Kevin, Michael, Logan, and Justin on a men-only fishing trip, as Nicole tries to convince Mitch to marry Kelly after finding out how cool she is. Kimberly is paid to watch Megan. Kayla demands answers out of Lindsay about Kevin and if Kevin loves Kayla or not.

Ep8: The Big Birthday:
Kevin is turning 17 yr old. Tim throws a party, inviting Campbells, Richardsons, and LeClairs. Mark is asked to fix Julie's toliet. While he is at Julie's, Mark finds himself wishing he never divorced Julie and vice versa.

Ep9: Popping Of Questions:
Kayla asks Kevin if he loves her: Yes. Mitch asks Kelly to marry him: Yes. Julie asks Mark out for drinks: Yes. Meanwhile, Keith and Nicole ponder over what is going to be the name of their unborn baby, after learning it is going to be a girl. Nicole likes the name Katie and Keith likes the name Christina.

Ep10: Celebrations:
Mitch and Kelly have an engagment party. Julie and Mark decide to "un-divorce" each other after 2 yrs. During the party, Nicole's water breaks. Keith rushes Nicole to the hospital. Nicole gives birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl--Katie Christina Richardson. While waiting in the waiting room with the others (Mark, Julie, Michael, Logan, Justin, Kimberly, Tim, Kevin, Lindsay, Mitch, Kelly, Megan), Kayla decides to wander off, when she decides she isn't feeling too well and decides to talk with a nurse. After being examinated by the nurse and returning to the families to see the newborn baby Katie, the nurse finds Kayla to tell her she is pregnant. Kayla is shocked and pulls Kevin aside to tell him she's pregnant, but someone overhears--MEGAN !
