Default Anyone else notice this?

Did anyone else notice this? The neighboring towns that were mentioned on the show such as Bundy, Hinckley, Oswald were named after killers?

Ted Bundy, Serial Killer
John Hinckley who tried to kill President Regan
Lee Harvey Oswald

Who ever came up with that idea and sneak it into the show without most people noticing they were named after killers, was brilliant.

Also anyone else notice that each character had a color they liked and wore it often?

Mama liked her blue
Iola liked her pink
Naomi liked her yellow
Vinton liked his beige
Bubba liked his green

Also Iola always seemed to know what room mama was in, if she was in the Kitchen Iola came through the Kitchen door, if Mama was in the living room Iola would come through the living room door.

Mama also liked her purples.

Wow...Very observant! I had actually thought of the Bundy thing ages ago...but I never thought about the other two.

And about the Iola thing, I never thought of that.

Your right Mama also liked purple.

Also noticed in alot of episodes the cast liked to stand in a line. Like when the wedding they were all line a line and Aunt Effice screams out is the line to the food.

The last 2 pictures I posted they are all in a line. Err, post before this one that is.

A couple more strange connections with killers, the occult, and Mama's Family:

Mama/Thelma's maiden name was Thelma Crowley.

Aleister Crowley was an occultist who founded the religion and philosophy of Thelema.

In the episode "Bubba's Double Date", Mama mentions that Bubba should ask out "that nice Borden girl down the street". A possible reference to suspected parent-killer Lizzie Borden?

Yes, they mention this in the cast reunion round table discussion on the box set's bonus features.

Yup...it's kinda hard not to notice that though, lol One thing that's funny though is people identify Naomi with yellow so much, which is true, but actually if you pay attention to her wardrobe she "strays" from her assigned color perhaps more than anyone (and also, Frannie was mostly pinks before Iola came along...rarely she was lavender, or powder blue)

Yeah, I've seen TV critics criticize this before---not just on this show, but any sitcom; anyone coming into a character's house just always "happens" to know which door to use to just "happen" to enter upon the characters in that room, lol.

Wow, now that's something they didn't cover in the round table, lol...interesting...

That's because Iola is a genius!

I love the first pick of Allan…the second one made him seem older…still attractive but the first one was pure Bubba.

Another possible "serial killer" connection I recently discovered that the first true serial killers in America were the Harpe brothers.

They're thought by many to have shortened their last names from Harper.
