Default Which Lucy Was Best Mom?

Of all the Lucy incarnations. Which one do you think was the best mom?

I said Lucy Carter. Lucy Ricardo was always sending Little Ricky to Mrs. Trumble or her mother so she could cook up another scheme. And Lucy Carmichael shipped her kids off to military school and forgot that they existed.

I agree with you, very rarely do you ever see Little Ricky and Lucy goes off to Europe for his 3rd birthday she's overseas and not with him. I never could picture Lucy Ricardo as the mother type anyways.
Lucy Carmichael was a good mom during the first season and stuff then like you said she went to cali and never talked to her kids.
Lucy Barker was older, at that point I think her kids were kind of taking care of her. Even though Lucy was still self sufficient the kids kinda had their own thing going on. She was a good grandma though, she went to court for Kevin to get back his teddy bear, wanted to teach Becky the sax, read bedtime stories and played games. Although the pilot episode she didn't prove so responsible, she forgot to grab the kids from school.
Lucy Carter was the best mom, she was always doing something either for or with her kids. Particularly Lucie.

The Carter kids were too old to be sent to Mrs. Trumble. When they were younger, Lucy Carter probably did the same thing. But I agree, Lucy Carmichael seemed to be getting Jerry out of her way sending him to military school (Chris, on the other hand, was in college). Once they were out of the house, they were virtually forgotten, with only occasional references to them.

I've been thinking some more about this question. If I remember correctly, Lucy Barker only went back to work after her husband died. Presumably, when her kids were growing up she was at home raising them. Then when her daughter was grown, she moved in with her daughter's family to be close to her and her grandkids. So I think Lucy Barker wins this hands down, followed by Lucy Carter, Lucy Ricardo, and then Lucy Carmichael.

And by the way, Lucy Carmichael stank as a mother. Not only did she ship her kids off to school never again to interact with them (except for one Christmas when her son came home), but she even forgot her own son's name. What kind of a parent forget's the name of her own child???!

I remember that. Didn't she call him Jimmy or something?

Yes, she said "my son, Jimmy" about two or three times. Then she read a letter from him out loud, and it was signed "your son, Jimmy." Apparently after a year in military school, he didn't know his name anymore, either. It must have been a pretty brutal place.
