TV LAND GOES UNDERCOVER WHEN IT ADDS CRIME DRAMA “HUNTER” TO THE NETWORK IN NOVEMBER 2004
Network to Air 48-Hour Marathon November 6-7 Los Angeles, CA, July 23, 2004 – TV Land, cable’s only 24-hour home to the best of everything television, will add the popular crime drama, “Hunter,” to the network’s line-up in November 2004 with a 48-hour marathon beginning November 6 at 6 a.m. ET/PT. The series, starring Fred Dryer and Stephanie Kramer as Los Angeles homicide detectives, ran on NBC for seven seasons. “Crime-stopping dramas have always been an important part of television history,” states Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. “Hunter’s fast-paced, action-packed story-lines make this a welcome addition to TV Land’s line-up.” “Hunter” which aired on NBC from 1984 to 1991 follows the lives of Rick Hunter (Fred Dryer) and Dee Dee McCall (Stephanie Kramer), best friends and detectives with the L.A.P.D. who investigate bizarre homicides that always seem to take a twist. Tough and beautiful, McCall was nicknamed “the Brass Cupcake” by fellow detectives, and Hunter is a good cop…who just happens to come from a family of mobsters. The two save each other’s lives on a number of occasions and are a formidable duo. “Sporty James” (Garrett Morris) is a helpful police informant who always provides a bit of humor in this series, and Bernie (James Whitmore, Jr.) is an inept senior detective to whom Hunter is occasionally assigned and who often gives him aggravation. TV Land and all related logos and titles are trademarks of Viacom International Inc. |

I am glad that Hunter is coming to TV Land. It was a great classic show from the 1980's.

I bet it will replace MacGyver. I think MacGyver will only be on Spike TV then. I also think Hunter will eventually end up on Spike TV, too.
