Default Were the gay jokes less funny from Mr. Furley and More funny from Mr. Roper?

Mr. Roper was alwaysfunny at teasing Jack. Mr. Furley was a loser trying to intimate a ladies man. So his jokes were never funny to me

You are not lying about that. Mr. Roper didn't have to try, he was just cool from day one.

While I liked Mr. Roper and Mr. Furley, the gay jokes were funnier when Roper said them. For one thing Furley was more Jack's friend so the jokes didn't actually feel right.

The whole gay thing was getting old by time Mr. Furley arrived. If Mr. Furley was so 'with it', then why did it matter to him if a guy and two girls were living together???

they didnt want "degenerates" living there.

It was funny with Roper because they actually tried, and Jack liked to mess with him. It was far less funny with Furley because he was even more stupid than Roper, and he was FAR less masculine than Jack.

I wish they had kept the Ropers, Furley had his moments, but wasnt nearly so great.

I laughed at a few of Furley's jokes, but what I liked about Roper is that he used more visual signs. (Ex: The Tinkerbell thing and smiling at the camera)

From "Raising Dad" a short lived sitcom with Bob Saget of "Full House" fame.

Exactly, Furley never was physical with teasing Jack. I couldn;t have imagined it anyway because Furley was already Feminine looking-lol

Another thing I should bring up is that Furley had mentioned in "The Love Lesson" that his brother Bart would never allow a guy living with two girls. In reality, I don't think it would have mattered to RF. It was just his brother that was the problem.

Bart was never there at the apartment, and since RF doesn't mind and probably would never tattle to Bart, it would've been ok if Jack was just a straight guy living with two girls.

i found it ironic tht in one episode (with cindy, cant recall the name) that rf was trying to turn on this woman by pretending to be errol flynn like. the irony is that flynn is mostly known today more for his homosexual exploits than his acting abilities.

On last night's episode, I'm surprised Jack didn't tell Furley he wasn't gay when he came to the door. He said from now on he was always going to speak the truth.

Yeah how bout that. But i think Jack knew that there was two things he couldn;t be honest about. His living situation because he wouldn;t have had no where else to go and being honest about how Lisa really felt about Furley because he knew Mr. Furley was already a loser/Loner/ and knew if he had told Furley the truth then that probably would have destroyed him.
