Question Characters who kept their own first names

Offhand, there's Ray Romano as Raymond on Everybody Loves Raymond.

Cheers did this often. Woody Harrelson as Woody Boyd, Paul Wilson as Paul, Harry Anderson as 'Harry the Hat, and Al Rosen as Al.

Mary Tyler Moore was Mary Richards on the MTM show.

Others?

Gob: There's not a lot of logic to it. It's kind of like on a boat with "Women and children first." I mean, why should they -

Dave Foley played Dave Nelson on "NewsRadio"

Ellen Degeneres played Ellen Morgan on "Ellen"

Harry Anderson played Judge Harry Stone on "Night Court"

The Monkees kept their first and last names for "The Monkees", although I guess that really doesn't count.

Im sure the others were just easy to use because of real names.... but I've read that the name Woody was chosen before Woody Harrelson was cast.

I think Drew Carey is one of the only examples where the character kept the full name of the actor.

Roseanne could have done this, of course, the Conner name would have changed every two seasons!
