Question Another Three's Company Biggest Mistake!

When Chrissy left the show, she was replaced by Cousin Cindy. But during the opening credits, Suzanne Somers was introduced. Jenillee Harrison was only introduced at the ending credits only. What gives? They should have removed Suzanne Somers and introduce Jenillee Harrison instead. I mean what was the point of introducing Suzanne when she wasn't even on this show anymore? Jenillee should have been introduced. She was on the show. If you have any answers I'll appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Well, because Suzanne was still actually on the show until the end of Season 5, she appeared on some ending tags talking to Janet or Jack, N@N has showed 2 of them, both with Janet...Jenilee will be in the Season 6 credits, but by then Terri (Priscilla Barnes) will be the roomate and Cindy will be moving to UCLA!

That's a good point. Maybe perhaps the producers thought that Cindy wasn't that important, since she was only going to be staying for a short time... but then again, Lana was in the credits and she was only there for a season. Hmm... maybe they had a low budget at the time and couldn't make another intro...? OK, I'm not even making sense anymore. ^_^* That intro is pretty misleading, that sums it up well.

Actually it is true that Suzanne Sommers appeared at the beginning of the 80-81 season for a few episodes and then just on the occasion. Jennilee Harrison joined the show during the early/middle part of the season. If they wanted to introuduce her, they most likely would have had to film a new intro. It seems to me that they decided to leave it the way it was and phase out Suzanne. You are right. It was misleading to me when I was younger but I have better understanding now. Although they used the same opening sequence, they could have given Ms. Harrison a credit at the beginning of the show even if it was just putting her name
at the beginnin after Suzanne's or Don Knotts:
And Also Starring
Jennilee Harrison as Cindy.

Yeah, the producers did not want to shoot a new introduction just for Jenilee Harrison until the start of season 6. The same concept applies for Richard Kline. Despite the fact that Larry was often a recurring guest star, he was not introduced in the opening credits of seasons 1, 2, and 3, and was only introduced when the opening credits were re-shot for season 4 at the Santa Monica Pier.

Another reason why the producers didn't change the opening after Cindy was introduced may have been that they thought Suzanne might return. So maybe they didn't shoot another opening until they were sure that they weren't going to be able to work things out with her.
