I remember when that happened. It was a real tragedy. She was so young and she had her whole life ahead of her.

I still have the People magazine that came out soon after she was murdered, and I also remember it all too well. I loved her on My Sister Sam, and had hoped to see more of her in the coming years. What happened to her is truly tragic and unthinkable. The only silver lining, I suppose, is that a law was put into place because of her death. It's nice to see her in your avatar.. she is missed.

I watched My Sister Sam when I was younger. Rebecca was a beautiful woman. It's a shame what happened to her. I'm not certain, but I think the 1st e !true hollywood story ever was about rebecca.

She was a bright and cheery young actress who starred on a show called "My Sister Sam" with Pam Dawber from Mork & Mindy.

I loved the show, she would've had a great future ahead of her if it weren't for the tragedy that ended her life.

That's all I really know about it too, it was one of the events that made the whole celeb-stalking issue become more public.

So sad- she would have had a great future ahead of her.

She was an actress on an 80's sitcom called "My Sister Sam" and she did some movies. she started getting alot of sick letters from Robert Bardo and he eventually came to see her at her apartment and shot her dead. She was 21

He was found guiltyt of murder and he's in prison for life no parole.

I first started getting interested in this after seeing her E! True Hollywood Story. I never saw "My Sister Sam" but I really want to now.

I remember this well. It was a terrible tragedy. She was so young, and her career was just taking off. I hope that sicko burns in hell. He shot her at close range with a shotgun as she answered her door. Sad story.

She was also on "One Life to Live" in 1985.

I just did a search for her E! True Hollywood Story...and it says it aired in 1991?

Anyway...I was just a month shy of turning 4 when she was murdered...so I don't remember it too well. But I think it's a tragedy...Yep, she was way too young and had her whole life ahead of her.

has anyone seen the movie MOONLIGHT MILE? it stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Susan Sarandon and Dustin Hoffman. It's about the aftermath of the family (Susan and Dustin as the parents) and fiance (Jake) of a girl who was brutally murdered.

Even tho this movie was set around 1973, it was written and directed by the guy who was engaged to Rebecca Schaeffer. Names and occupations (and it was set in the Nam-era early 70's, as opposed to the flashy late 1980's) were changed, but he based this movie on the aftermath of Rebecca's murder. I don't know much about Rebecca, and I watched the movie because I'm a fan of Jake's, but it was a very touching, sad yet uplifting movie. If you're a fan of Rebecca Shaeffer's, or anyone in the cast, check it out

I looked her up on google.com

She looked so pretty, and she was only about 21 years old

There's really no good reason to kill anybody. But, I think the guy who shot her, Robert Bardo was schizophrenic or something. He also had the same book that Mark David Chapman had in his possession at his arrest. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. For any of those who don't know, Chapman was the guy who assassinated John Lennon, the late former Beatle.
