Default That's My Dog - 7/18/04

The wildest, greatest episode of SFU ever. It was wild, the whole last half of the show focused on David's ordeal with the guy he thought he was helping, Jake. I liked the twists they took, you thought maybe that was a guy David would hook up with and he turns out to be a demented psycho. The guy was so funny, but I'd hate to have to go through a situation like that. I really thought that was the best episode of the series, at least it was the most involving. When they showed images of David's life flashing, they had me nervous that they were gonna kill the character, but thankfully he survived.

In less positive news, Mena Suvari's character is back next week.

All I can say is OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!! I really felt sorry for David. I knew from last weeks previews that his picking that guy up would lead to no good. I thought that was horrible for him to dump that lady in the street like that. I have one question though, why did David not take off when that guy got out of the truck, I mean he got out before David did.

I know what you mean about Mena's character, I knew they were going to go with Clare and her getting together.

I didn't see that coming at all. Watching last week's previews, I just knew David and the guy would hook up and it would cause conflict between him and Keith (which it still might do).

I guess it would have been too easy to have David just drive away. I sort of liked how they did it, after the fact I guess. I was just so engrossed in the action, I was just looking to see what would happen next. A good change of pace for the show.

Thumbs up Oh My God!

This episode had me gasping for air. Very very well done and powerful. Great casting for the crazy. I have a difficult time watching violence, and I had to get up a few times...when he was beating on David and after he doused him with gasoline. The writers do a superb job of making the characters extremely likable although flawed, but aren't we all.

Michael C. Hall delivered an amazing performance, and it wouldn't surprise me if he grabs an Emmy nod. The poor guy was so frightened. I couldn't stand the thought that this was happening to him. When he was begging for his life at the end, I was actually crying and yelling for it to stop. This is the best episode of SFU that I've seen, and I've seen every episode. This show rarely misfires.

That's the same thing I was thinking as I was watching it, submit this episode because you've got your nomination with this one. Powerful performance as a victim of violence, emotional, mental and physical.

I agree with you both. I was on edge the whole time I was watching the, very powerful.

I also agree that this has to the best episode of the show, this show should win an Emmy for best drama, and Michael C. Hall for best dramatic actor, because his performance was spectacular!

I have to watch this again tonight.

Nuts.

John Heim from jumptheshark.com was on Howard Stern's radio show this morning and mentioned this episode as one of the top ten jump the shark moments of the year. I just checked the website and 78! people said SFU jumped the shark with this episode. Crazy. That's was such a great, involving, edge of your seat episode and there are nuts out there who didn't like it.

Emmy didn't agree with us. The good news: the show got 5 nominations, the bad news: Michael got 0.

It's unfortunate. I looked for his name on the Emmy list this morning with Hall's performance in mind. It's really stuck with me. An amazing piece of acting.
