Default Movies you thought were going to be great, yet was disapointed in (no sequels)

what movies were you really looking forward to seeing, and then after you did, were "this was what I wanted to see?"

Offhand, I remember thinking Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood was going to be GREAT. I love chick flicks with all star casts, and with the likes of Sandra Bullock, Ashley Judd and Maggie Smith, I was expecting a great movie, yet the movie was very disapointing

Bridget Jones's Diary. I know so many people LOVE this movie and I was expecting great things from it. I ended up being disappointed and bored.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. During the movie I questioned my sanity, and thought I needed my head examined for viewing such garbage. Strange, due to my love of horror movies.

which version? the 1974 or last years? I know a lot of people who love one and hate the other. A lot of the 74 fans I know hated the remake, and a lot of the remake fans thought the original was too campy

Ditto to that- for the new remake. Utterly horrible.

I was disapointed that there was never a sequel to Flash Gordon.

I am so gonna get killed by someone. But all of my friends are obsessed with the Lord Of The Rings, and I didn't see it untill like, three nights ago. And I personally couldn't see why it was such a great movie? Don't get me wrong, it was slightly entertaining. But I'm not gonna rent the 2nd and 3rd movies.

Sorry, my personal opinion.

Despite a few laughs, I didn't find "Napoleon Dynamite" quite enjoyable. Everyone I went with LOVED it, but I could of waited for the DVD, or even the TV airing.

Thumbs down

The Terminal. Is it just me or have Steven Spielberg's films been getting worse and worse over the past five years? The Terminal was just plane lifeless and dull. In a recent interview Spielberg said that there are many filmmakers of his generation that don't have the touch any longer and should consider retireing. I think he should include himself in this statement.

I agree. I don't personally like many sci-fi and fantasy films. I don't mind films about time travel, but many other fantasy and sci-fi films just bore me. I would mention that I like films about E.T.s and afterlife stuff, too, but I don't consider them sci-fi. I believe E.T.s exist. I don't think I'll even rent the first Lord of the Rings film. I'm just not interested in seeing it.

BuffySlayer79 - It was the new remake which I hated. I can recall watching the original for the first time, and being so shocked by it’s edgy rawness.

Just my own humble opinion, and personal taste. I’m sure a lot of people viewing the updated version, for the very first time will think it, highly enjoyable. I’ve yet to see ‘Dawn Of The Dead’ remake. So I’m looking forward to how it compares with the original. Funnily enough, I watched the original on television a few weeks ago, and thought it dated.

Kaffeine Kay - Hehe, superb signature.

I misunderstood the question. I thought the thread was asking which film do I wish had a sequel.

As far as the question of which film I thought was going to be good, but was disappointed in goes, I would say Gladiator and Pearl Harbor.
